Blessings!

Ever heard the term "get real"? Well, I figured this was the right time to share how we "get real":P

Every year, folks everywhere, during the festive holiday season, from Thanksgiving to Christmas to New Years, take pictures of the events that surround them. As we all enjoy sharing our special moments with our families and friends, the perfect pictures are sought and bought (or generated on our trusty, all encompassing computers) so that we might send these to our loved ones. Memories of family times together. Moments that we'll never see again.

Babies first Christmas, the last time the matriarch or patriarch was with us all before passing on to Glory, when all the family was finally together for the first time in years and the list goes on. For us, we not only seek that perfect picture to share but we seek to share the real us. After all, it's not the staunch poses, capturing the exact moment that everyone is looking in the right direction, children behaving, babies content, it's the chaos in between those pictures that leave us with the lasting impression of that holiday past:)

Our first picture above is the one folks seek to share...however, in THIS family, the following picture is the one that will appear on next years Christmas Cards...We believe in "getting real":P

Have a very blessed New Year ahead!

God be with thee!

Sister Lori

LOL! I love it! I just commented to Mary-Ann on how beautiful your picture is, and it is--- but she neglected to show us this one, too! It's great! :-)
So glad you had such a joyful Christmas. I'm sure every minute with your new little granddaughter was cherished. Next year, she'll be having such fun getting into things. :-)
Wishing you a blessed New Year.
(I need to share one of our "get real" photos with you!)

That is too funny! I think I will have to address ALL of our pictures as "Get Real" pictures from now on. Seems like no matter how hard we try to take a decent picture they always turn out to be "get real" pics! Then people always say, "Well, it looks just like you!" :oP Guess I look "get real" all the time! I give up!!! ~Smile~

Blessings,
Miki

My favorite picture of my 3 children was taken outdoors in the dark (it was *supposed* to be a meteor shower, but the clouds rolled in) I aimed my camera towards the children sitting on the blanket...when the flash went off, it was too quick to see, so when I saw the photo for the first time, I rolled...there they were, the youngest was in the middle, smiling innocently, and the two older ones reaching across him with their fingers on each others noses....silly - I printed an 8 x 10 of it, and hung it on the wall.

Hello Sister Lori!
I LOVE that photo! I will have to remember that for our next year Christmas photo! Too funny. I stumbled on your site, and have a question on homeschooling, I have a just turned 5 year old son, he is our last child in the home, and I am choosing to homeschool him next Fall. My question is could you post a page on your site as to the direction for "newbies" parents, who have never done this, your experinces and programs, etc...I SO SO SO need insite as to where to begin! I have a sense, you are highly the person to ask! I need a mentor! Hope you can help! Hugs~ Ginger

What a joy.....
