SEPTEMBER APREADY??!!!

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!!!
Can you believe that is now already SEPTEMBER?! The months have just been flying by! Here in Iowa, we are already seeing many leaves changing colors and falling from their trees. The mornings are much cooler and the nights are cooling off more quickly, as well as growing darker much sooner! While I absolutely love FALL time..........it is making dred the thought of winter drawing here much sooner at the rate the coolness is coming in. They say once you begin to hear the locusts that it will be 6 weeks until the first frost, well we have been hearing them here since the end of July! YIKES!!!
Although we did not go on our camping trip as planned, we had a full weekend. Sat. my son came over and helped with the roofing and I got to spend most of the day with my twin granddaughters! :-) Then my dear husband's brother and his family came out for a cookout and bonfire. They were here until after 2:00AM!!!!! We barely get to see them and had such a great time. Needless to say it was nealry 3:00am before my dh and I got to bed so we slept in until nearly 9:00am and could have slept longer. LOL! We missed church, but we know the good Lord would understand! Then about 11:30am my dh and son went fishinf with my borther as his 45th birthday is actually today, but he wanted to spend it with his wife so they went fishing yesterday instead. Dakota caught the most fish.....6 small Blue Gills but ecited non the less! :-) I wish I had a pic of that!
We have so very many urgent projects to get down hear on the homestead, we desperately need some help, but have been unable to get any. My son was here on Sat. morning to help my dh get the rolled roofing on my cottage house finally as that really takes 2 guys to get done. Now my dh has to get the south wall and window in, then the doors. The door can wait a bit as long as he gets the south wall and window in. Then there is the chicken coop to get built, canning, and on and on. :-) This morning I believe my dh is going to start working on the cottage house wall so I am excited! We will be doing the chicken coop as well, as my dh is on vacation this week. |
