Hippology Contest
|
Recently our eldest daughter has been attending 4-H Hippology (study of Horses) meetings preparing for the regional contest. This past week we attended the regional competition and our county, Montgomery county, did extremely well! As a county, our novice, intermediate, and senior teams placed #1 in the competition. This was the first time our daughter has competed as last year she participated in the classes but did not attend the competition. We were very pleased with her results as she scored 180 out of 200. She would have scored higher but she did not study the names of different shoes for horses and missed a few questions. For a first time competitor she did pretty well considering her scores were higher than some of the members of established teams. She is considering competing as an individual at the state level later this month at Purdue University. We have an excellent 4-H program in our county and it is alot of fun. This year we are not going to be as ambitious to sign up for a zillion different projects. We are going to work on 2-3 projects so that we can be adequately prepared instead of working day and night at the last possible minute! |
