More Cast Iron than I dreamed of
I cooked a big meal last night and kept finding the need to pull out one iron skillet after another. Then I began wondering just how many pieces of iron cookware I had in my cabinets. I mean, my lower cabinets are very deep and I forget sometimes just what's back there in the dark!
So after supper I got down on my knees and pulled out every piece of cast iron I own and looked at it all at one time. That was a first! Next thing ya know it's 9:00 PM and I'm re-seasoning all of my cast iron. I was so tickled with it when I was done that I snapped a picture before putting it all away again.
Some pieces were my grandmothers, some my mother in law's and some a Christmas gift from my hubby's parents. There were 2 pieces that were way in the back that I had totally forgotten I had: the 3 1/2 quart saucepan (front-left) and the huge pot behind it. I'm not sure of the exact size of it but the pot to it's right is a large dutch oven! The others are big and small skillets and a cute little corn bread stick mold.

You have one more piece than I do. The only one I don't have is the corn bread mold. I use mine each and every day, sometimes four times a day, wait that is too many meals. Maybe if they would all eat together, lol. ...........good job.........Kitty

Very nice collection! I have several of the pans that were handed down from my grama, and some that I found at the thrift store. I also have a griddle that is wonderful for making pancakes! Thank you for reminding me they were hiding in MY cupboards LOL. I'd best start using them huh? LOL
Take care,
Tricia

I use 3 cast iron skillets all the time, and I seriously forget what else I have unless I'm cooking something specificly done in a certain pan.
I absolutely love your picture. I'll have to try and get one soon...I'd have to season it all first though, as yours looks so nice and ready for cooking that way!
Hugs,
Lisa

All that cast iron cookware.... what a blessing!! I love to cook with cast iron too, especially to fry meat. There's nothing like cast iron fried chicken or pork chops!! ;-)
God bless your day~ Andrea

Karen - I LOVE all your cast iron - I am now wanting one of those grills you can put over two burners on the stove - I mean I really want one baaaaaad!!
I think I have even seen them at WalMart.
I only have 2 pieces - one skillet handed down from my grannie that I make cornbread in or fry fish - and then I have a small skillet, that I don't use much

I think you did a great job. Sometimes I take joy in looking at the little : "homey, homely" things that make my house a home. One time I was enamored with a basket of strawberries. I should've taken a photo! Next time I will. Thanks for sharing. :)

Hello Karen! You got a very nice iron wares! They look so durable. Here in the PH we usually use thin aluminum wares because thick iron wares are just too expensive.
