Happy St. Patrick's Day!    Kiss me.  I'm IRISH! 

We're having beautiful spring weather, sunny and breezy.  It's about to be really good fishing season around here and dh did catch a mess over the weekend.  As soon as he got in he cleaned them then I fried them with some french fries and baked beans.  I'm hoping to get the freezer restocked soon with white perch. 

Tonight I think we'll grill some hamburgers and I'll make some baked beans and potato salad and use lots of fresh eggs that I have an abundance of.  The chickens are really doing well and so are the baby chicks that are a week old today.  I expect the next shipment to arrive tomorrow and the last will come on the 27th.  Dh will be building a new coop for the chicks and then we'll go to work on the new chicken house and yard down under the old oak tree. 

We performed our Easter musical last night at a nearby church that invited us to come. We are always a bit nervous before a performance especially since dh is the Minister of Music.   It went very well and the Lord received honor and glory from it.  We'll sing again next Sunday morning at our own church.  We'll have a sunrise service, breakfast, Sunday School classes, then the final service when we'll sing.  There will be no night services so usually some of the kids come over and we have dinner and hunt eggs.I've not talked to them yet but I need to find out what the plans are to know if I need to plan a meal.  We got a spiral sliced ham as a Christmas gift and I've been saving it in the freezer for such an occassion.  This time next year I'll have chickens that will lay me eggs that I won't have to dye for Easter!  Pretty blues, greens and pinks!

I love perch, it is absolutly my fav fish. I was thinking about ordering more chicks for my coop too, but I really have to much on my plate this year with mom living here. Maybe later tho. Post a pic of the chicks, they are always too cute............Kitty

Fishing White perch.. When does your fishing season begin? do you have a limit? Its smelt season here they are just taking off the smelts shacks because the river is starting to break up..
