Wednesday, April 4, 2007Quilting...and cookingPosted in Our HomesteadI was reading on Musketman's blog about his 'purple squirrel heads' over rice and it made me hungry (how sad is that, considering the naming of his dish?!?). I need to plan dinner! I was also thinking about starting a quilt -- rather unrelated to the monkey hips and squirrel heads thing, though -- and about how I need to get a schedule worked out for adding in the 'wanna do' things of the homestead, along with the 'need do' things. I need to plan out menus for the month yet so we can do our shopping this weekend. I need to work out the extra's for schooling this month yet. I have plenty of outdoor projects to get moving on....gardening, barn make-overs, animal health needs to tend, etc. And I'd like to start a quilt project. Maybe something small-scale...like a baby quilt, or table runner. I saw on the Front Page section here, they have an article for that sort of thing (quilting for cancer children, I believe). And plenty of ladies here do beautiful handwork. It's certainly encouraging me to widen my horizons as it were.
