Looking Around

...it would seem many ladies are leaving here to blog other places, and everyone is upset over bickering and debates.  Maybe there are some blog circles I want to avoid here?  Job 8:16  Evil people sprout like weeds in the sun, like weeds that spread all through the garden.
I haven't seen anything of any conflict being played out, but I've only looked around a short while.  I have found some blogs I definitely will be watching...there are some great bloggers sharing a lot of information here.  I hope I can share things that others will find useful on their homesteads.

What is everyone planting?  We are getting ready to start the garden here and I'm curious as to what veggies are a must in their gardens.  We are traditional here....we like tomatoes, sweet peppers, winter and summer squash, peas, beans of all kinds, some lettuces and the like, carrots, radish, beets and corn.  There are other things, I'm sure, but those are what come to mind.   This is our first garden here on the homestead and we are excited about it  The Lord promises of our unkempt land that  "Everyone will talk about how this land, which was once a wilderness, has become like the Garden of Eden, and how the cities which were torn down, looted, and left in ruins, are now inhabited and fortified" (
Eze 36:35)Our homestead was once a well-kept home for someone, with pastures and home gardens and buildings, but over the years it has lost that shine and was barren and overgrown when we found it.  It has taken some time to clear through the debris and hack at the weeds and thorny bushes here, but we have some cleared land ready for working it back to the Glory of God.

Isa 58:11  And I will always guide you and satisfy you with good things. I will keep you strong and well. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water, like a spring of water that never goes dry.

Just a hi and it sounds like you are going to have a nice garden. I have never come to learn to love a beet, maybe one of these days! LOL!!
Blessings,

LOL...took me a while, too. My husband loves pickled beets, and after a while they do grow on you (bad pun!!). They aren't the most prevalent thing in the garden...we do a ton of tomatoes and can everything from sauces and salsa to juices and whole tomatoes. Electricity is something we hope to get out from under one day, so canning is a priority here.
