"Our life is like the dial of a clock...""Our life is like the dial of a clock. The short hand is the hand of discipline, the long hand is the hand of mercy. Slowly but surely the hand of discipline must pass, and God speaks at every stroke. But, over and over again, passes the hand of mercy, showering forth sixty-fold of blessings for every stroke of discipline and trial, and both hands are fastened to the one secure pivot -the great unchanging heart of a God of love". Mothers and children
"Mothers write on the hearts of their children, that which the rough hand of the world cannot rub out".

note: taken from Kitchen Club Recipes from 1952!!!! IgnoranceI love love love this weeks quote from the Kitchen Club of '52. It has made me think.... and I believe it to be so very true. Just think about it, what do you not know well about? Life in Indonesia? How people survived or didn't in the Great hurricane of 1780? Well there you are. You are ignorant. What do you know plenty about? Laura Ingalls Wilder? The life of bees? Well, you are not ignorant on this subject then. You are ignorant in something though....Guaranteed.
"Everyone is ignorant -only on different subjects". note: taken from Kitchen Club Recipes from 1952!!!! On Work"Thank God every morning when you get up, that you have something to do that day which must be done, whether you like it or not. Being forced to work and forced to do your best will breed in you temperance and self-control, diligence and strength of will, cheerfulness and content, and a hundred virtues which the idle never know. " note: taken from Kitchen Club Recipes from 1952!!!! Trouble"Borrow trouble for yourself, if that's your nature; but don't lend it to your neighbors."
note: taken from Kitchen Club Recipes from 1952!!!! Kitchen ClubI think TJAF would be interested to know this next quote is for her... "Well arranged time is the surest sign of a well arranged mind"
