Starting a homemaking classWell today is the day! I have apples.... and I have a canner .... and this afternoon I will have canned apple pie filling! YAY! I was blessed with 4 bags aof apples yesterday so I can finally put that canner to use. I keep thinking about the class I am wanting to teach the girls. Future Christian Homemakers class. I talked with dh about it last night as it has been on my mind for a while and I have been praying about it. It will take a commitment and I want to make sure it will not effect my dh in a negative way. We like our time together and I normally do not like to plan anything when he is off. But this is a ministry I know I can do and do well. I firmly believe our homemaking skills are going the way of the past and some of these girls have no one to teach them otherwise. Dh is great with the idea and now I am working on the When to start, how often and the other details. I have spoken to several girls who are eagerly awaiting the GO on this. Especially my 15 year old niece who's mother (my sister) is a professed workaholic who has no desire to teach these important skills to her daughter, my dn one big desire in life is to become the wife of a Godly rancher and she become his Keeper of the Home! Poor child -how easier it would be to at least know a few skills to help her on her way.Anyway, I am excited with all the ideas we can teach. And my dd 16 wants to have a formal mother/daughter tea at the end of the year. How cool is that!? { Last Page } { Page 364 of 368 } { Next Page } |
