The ol' homestead

Car cow tipping

Pianomanjess and grand-doll Mom were here yesterday. They brought the kids out and it sure was nice to spend the day. We heated up some Italian Pintos and sweet cornbread and had lunch together. Little Miss and Grand-doll just played the day away.

Here they are "driving" -isn't that the cutest thing!?

And here is The Little with Cowgirl Cutie playing on the bed. He is such a doll and has the most amazing eyes.

Big Miss and and Police Son were here as well and they played Rock Band and just spent some much needed time together. I had baked all day to get my goodie baskets together and made 5 cinnamon swirl bread, 3 holiday pumkin bread, a double batch of double chocolate mint cookies, hello dollies and brownies. To this I added the snowmen we made the other day and chocolate covered pretzels and homemade apple maple jam. Whew! It was quite a bit but it brings so much joy to others that we love to do it. Today I am making Strawberry swirl cheescake and mini whole wheat rolls for out dinner at moms tomorrow. Because tomorrow is my birthday, I actually get to enjoy it without baking and cooking and just get to enjoy the day.

Here is a picture of Cuda Man and Big Miss..... yes, the are still stuck together like glue and just celebrated their first year together. Just two sillies in love......

Yesterday, after the baking I decided to run to check the mail in town and after topping a hill on the highway, a cow ran right out in front of me. I was not driving real fast and since it had been misting the roads were damp and I slammed on my brakes and skidded a good distance. I covered my face at the last few seconds as I just knew the cow was coming through my windshield. Because I was able to get it slowed down so much the car kinda scooped the cow up and onto the hood and windshield. Thank goodness it did not come through the windshield but there was glass on my dash and so it was close. It did quite a lot of damage to my little cruiser! I am not sure if they will total it out or not but will be calling the insurance company this morning. The people that owned the cow was there and we had to wait til the local police, then the highway patrol came out and wrote up the accident. I am so grateful no-one was hurt and that I was able to drive it home instead of it being towed.

Now, I have to put up with the kids and their "car cow tipping" teasing...

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas with your families!
