What a beautiful day it was. 80* and sunny. The calves are doing great. They anxiously await their morning and evening bottles. Dad and Mom came by and helped us feed tonight. Our 2 Rhode Island Red roosters are quite fiesty. They may end up in the stew pot. Our hens are laying good now. The eggs are getting larger by the day. For those of you who are thinking of getting chickens, I recommended Red Star. They are so docile and very sweet and laid back. Roosters too! I will not get Rhode Island Reds again. LOL. Live and Learn. Tonight we had left over lasagna and bread. Terry had fire training. Chad is at EMT clinicals. The girls and I are at home. Another busy little day on the farm. |

Well after a long hiatus I'm back! After we got back from Florida my bil passed-away in Michigan so my dh and I went up there. We were there for about 4 days. Along with the family we were able to see alot of our friends whom we haven't seen in a very long time. It was great to re-connect with them. We were sad about the reason to be there but glad to see everyone. My sil is going to move down to Alabama to be with her parents (my mil and fil). We are very excited about that. I know that she will enjoy living down here in the south and being closer to family. Our garden is doing all right. It's not the best that we have ever had. This is the first year that our corn is not doing really good. Usually we have good luck with it but not this year. Our beans are great and our okra is doing very well also. I can't wait to harvest it all. We'll have to wait and see about everything else. We are finally getting a little rain. It rained today for the first time in a week and before that it was a month. Today it was hot too! Summer is here. Hope everyone has a great day. Love, Tina |

We had a great week-end. It was VERY busy but we enjoyed it. I can't believe that April is almost over. Our garden has been ready to plant but we haven't got anything in it yet. I'm glad that we didn't get around to it because of the cold snap that happened last week.I will make it a priority now though beacause time is fleeting! This week will be busy with the usual things and a few extra activities and meetings. I know I keep on bringing up the fact that Chad is graduating but that is taking up all my extra time and funds. I will be happy when May is over. We are trying to enjoy each banquet, activity, etc... though. We had a large get together over here on Saturday night for all of his friends and that went really well. We have alot of left overs. Terry really worked hard to get everything ready outside and my mom really worked with me on getting all the food prepared. I appreciate them so much! Last night we went with the youth at church to another congregation for a singing and fellowship. It was really nice. I love to be with my kids! Terry and I think it is so important to be involved physically in every activity possible. I hope they appreciate it when they are older. I'm sure they will. When we got home Terry and I watched a little bit television. We like to watch the outdoor shows about deer hunting and things like that. We couldn't keep our eyes open so we went on to bed. I am so thankful that we have so much in common. I couldn't imagine living with someone that you didn't share the same interests with. Well, Monday is getting away from me so I better get off here and get busy. Have a great day. Love, Tina |

Today was another beautiful hot spring day. After work DH worked on the horse barn and I helped him. The horses were sweating just standing there. I think we are going to be in for a very hot summer. We haven't brought home our baby goats yet but Abigail and I went over and bottle fed them. Their mama had 4 kids.2 girls and 2 boys and only would take care and nurse the boys so they have been bottle fed since birth. You know what that means. BIG PETS! We are excited! Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. Psalm119:37 Have a great day and remember its the little things that your family will remember and cherish. I'm so excited. We are getting two new baby goats. We had goats several years ago before I really appreciated life in the country and was trying to learn but really very apprehensive. That was about 15 years ago.Now ,2 horses ,12 hens and 1 rooster later this full fledged rural farm loving wife,FFA Mom and homestead honey is trying her hand at goats again! I am very excited. Our good friends have had goats for about oh 100 years and she has been bottle feeding 2 little sisters that were born in February. They are toggenburg and nubian mixed. We are looking foreward to having them join our homestead. My two oldest are really involved in FFA and they are gone to an event. They are getting the most awesome education through that program. I thank God for that influence in their life so often. I am so blessed beyond words in every area of my life. I thank God daily. |
