What will they remember
|
I recently read an article in Making it Home magazine about the enviromennt that you create in the home. It said something that I have never thought about before. I am always doing something and being very busy because I want everything to look nice all the time. Now by no means is my house spotless. It might be tidy and cozy but I have enough dust to choke all the creatures ever created. But the reason that I do this is that so everyone will feel comfortable and cozy. Thus-I never sit down! But what that article said to me that really hit home was -When your children grow up and leave, they won't remember what you did , but they will remember how you made them feel! Stop hollering about the stuff laying around and enjoy everyone just being there. I am speaking to myself!
Have a great day and make memories!
Love,Tina

What a great point to bring up. I will have to remember that. My mother use to say that dust is a country accent.
Have a beautiful day!

I really needed this! I'm in the middle of working on "orderliness" with my kids and I do think that's important but it's hard to balance trying to train them to be orderly while at the same time maintaining a cheerfulness and not a nit-picky attitude towards them. I need to work on this for sure! God bless!

I know this and have heard it before and still manage to forget this simple truth. Thank you for reminding me.
Blessings,

Thanks for the reminder, it is so easy to get caught up in the everyday stuff. My kids too say that I don't know how to relax and that I never sit down. I do read to them at night and play board games but I need to be more open to just sitting and listening to them. thanks again, I needed that!
