The Heart of the Homestead

It's a cold but sunny day here in Tennessee. I just got home and we are getting ready to head back out to bible study. I am feeling much better after being out for about 5 days with my back. That is the first time that has ever happened. All I know is that I don't want it to happen again. My family all pitched in and helped with EVERYTHING. I am so grateful!  My hens are still all laying 12 a day. One from each  everyday. We keep the light on and that makes all the difference.  Tonight my hubby made us breakfast burritos. They were so good.  We don't eat eggs all the time but it sure is nice to come up with new things to help use our eggs. One of my favorite is egg& spinach quiche. I will post the recipe later . I better go for now . Hopefully I will be back in the swing of things again!

Love, Tina

I'd love the recipe! What kind of hens do you have?

I have red star\'s. They are a sex link which means they can be sexed by their color at birth. They are a brown egg layer and they are very gentle. They are redish-brown and the roosters are white and golden.
