Plastic...BAD glass...GOOD

Did anyone else hear the latest news about plastic bottles and sippy cups and such? They say that the plastic containers with the numbers 3, 6, and 7 located on the bottom in the triangle, are not good for you to use. And that water bottles with the number 1 in the triangle, like what we buy water in, should only be used once. The chemicals used in the 3, 6, and 7 types could leach the chemicals into whatever you are drinking. I am sure the same would go for any other uses, such as bowls and other plastic we eat or drink from. So what do we do? I went through my cabinet this morning and threw out a couple of reusable water bottles with the number 7 on them, and some kiddie cups with the number seven on them. But I also have some clear plastic glasses that I got at Wal-Mart, I just love them. They remind me of the old style cafe glasses we use to drink from at the local cafe where I grew up. They are just the perfect size and feel great in your hands. I have this issue with thick rimmed glasses, I hate the feel of a thick rim on my lips when I am drinking. It just isn't comfortable. And these plastic ones have just the right feel to them. I checked the bottom and guess what? They are number 7's!!! I was so upset!! I love these glasses. I am torn, but I have to throw them out. I just don't know what to do. I suppose I will have to find some glass glasses that I can use. Basically I took from the news that old fashion glass is still the best thing to use.
