Busy day ahead

Well today is shaping up to be a busy day. A few weeks ago I started having a little trouble with the lock on the drivers side of my Explorer. Sometimes it would pop up and unlock and sometimes it wouldn't. I would have to jiggle the handle while mashing the automatic unlock button on the remote. Then suddenly last week, the door stopped opening all together. The handle must have messed up inside or the lock mechanism completely went out. Anyway, the last day or two I have had to drive it and had to crawl, (wonderful image of a grown women in a dress climbing over the center console to get out on the passenger side of the vehicle), out on the passenger side. Not fun! Not something a dignified, southern lady should be doing, right? Anyway, I am taking it today to be repared. So I have to have the vehicle there by 9:00 so they can have it done by 2:00 so I can take Sadie, our female Shih-Tzu to the vet. Last week we had Sadie spayed. Today she has to get her stitches out. My daughter is going to meet me at the car repair shop to bring me home. In between, I have to come home and steam clean the carpets and mop the floors. Do some laundry, help Megan with her school and do other household chores. After taking Sadie to the vet, I have to come home, fix supper, and get ready for church. So my day is full. Yesterday was a wonderful day! I was able to pay off all three of our vehicles!!! Praise the Lord!!! So that is our first step toward a more sound financial footing and a change in our lifestyle! Our first major step toward a more simple lifestyle!! After talking to the insurance agent, I was a little dissappointed about how little we can reduce of our insurance monthly. If I drop full coverage on my vehicle it will only reduce our monthly payment by about $34 dollars. I can't drop full coverage on my daughters car; her being only 18, and teenagers are more likely to have accidents; besides her car is a '03 Toyota Solara,(read: sports car). My husband's truck is an '03, and he has to carry a certain amount of coverage because he uses it on job sites as a work truck also. So mine, which is the oldest and theoretically least likely to be in an accident, is the only one we can drop full coverage on. So the hoped for savings on insurance didn't quite meet my expectations. But getting rid of the car notes just reduced our monthly out go by $890.00! YEAH! So if I reduce the insurance by $34 on my vehicle, then that will save us $922 a month. A little shy of the $1000 I was counting on. But with a little saving in other places I can cut the $88 dollars some place else. So we are still on track. Now to find affordable, efficient housing options... Does anyone here know anything about stawbale houses?...Maybe a Yurt... Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 71 of 180 } { Next Page } |
