Laundry Monday

Well, today is laundry day around here.  I have a pile or two waiting for me.  It is amazing how much laundry a family of five can mess up between Friday and Monday.  Sometimes the amount is staggering!  I just washed up nearly everything in the house on Friday, and now, my laundry room looks like the washer and drier threw up their contents.  I have dirty laundry everywhere!

Tomorrow we we will be heading to Tennessee for a couple of days.  My father-in-law passed away in December and we are going so my husband and his sister and brother can go through their dad's house and get it cleaned out and ready to sell.  I know it will be an emotionally draining task for them, so please be in prayer for them.

I was hoping for better weather this week, and although the temps are coming up some, it will be storming.  So it is a trade off.  I think I would rather the cold if the sun is shining, than the higher temps with rain.  I don't do winter well, mostly because I need the sun, or I get the winter blues.  While out delivering mail on Saturday, I was thinking how much better I like to deliver mail in the cold winter as apposed to the hot summer.  For those of you who know how hot it can get here, just imagine riding around in a tin box with no air conditoner and the sun beating down on you and the windows blowing in dust and debris from the street!  Not fun!  I come home in the summer time, nasty with sweat, and rings of dirt around my neck, on my forehead and grit in my teeth!  YUCKY!  The winter time is better because I can bundle up, turn on the heat that blows only on my feet and only have one window down.  The worst part is I have some dismounts on this route and have to put mail in outside boxes at an apartment complex.  If it is raining and cold, that can be bad.  But all things considered, the winter is much better than the summer when delivering mail in an LLV.  I am not sure that the city carriers would agree, because they have to do a lot of walking...

Well, not much to say today.  I need to get started on that pile of laundry.  Lauren is off today, so maybe she can help me out some.  The kids are all still sleeping, even my early riser, Noah.  So I am enjoying a little quiet time alone...a precious commodity around here!

It is only a household of 3 here, but our family does the same thing over the weekends!!! I have it in my schedule to do laundry on Friday and Monday each week because of this.

Both of my parents died within 6 months of each other last year, and it was an emotional trip going through the house with my two older brothers. I can understand what you and hubby will be going through and you will be in my prayers.

God's Blessings,
Amy Jo
