Well, today is grocery shopping day. I have made an extensive list of things I need. I am trying to buy more to prepare from the food pyramid and "SuperFoods Rx" I have checked all the sale papers and printed out some coupons, so I think I am ready. I am trying to change the way we eat and the way we see food. My 18 year old is trying to lose a few pounds and joined a gym with some friends and she is going to work out often. My two year old and 12 year old are in developmental stages that they need the right foods, not the junk that my 12 year old would like. So the challenge is to find things that she will eat and not give in to the "nuggets, fries and pizza" demands! She did eat some salad the other night, I was very impressed. We need more veggies and fruits everyday! But I am also trying to work within a budget. I need to learn to set a budget for grocery shopping. Don't get me wrong, I don't have endless money to spend, but in the grocery area, I usually just go to the store and buy what looks good, and plan meals around that. But now I am going to try to plan healthy meals, go buy the ingredients, and save money in the process. I am sure most of you have already been doing that, but I suppose I have been lazy and a "late-bloomer". So wish me luck and if you have any tips for getting picky eaters to eat healthy, or ways to save on groceries, please share them with me.
