After Christmas

Well Christmas is over and time to take down the tree and put away the Christmas decorations. I always hate this job. It is like cleaning up after a party. All the fun has already been had and now time to get back to the real world again. But this year it won't be as bad. We bought a new tree due to our downsizing. We had no room for our hugh tree that we usually use. So I bought a tree that was pre-lit. So at least this year we won't have to worry with taking lights off and keeping them untangled. Because little man is in the terrible two's, we didn't put out a lot of decorations that he could get his hands on and destroy. So I have very lttle to do today.

We had a great Christmas, considering the circumstances. For those who don't know. My father-in-law passed away last week. We had the funeral on Saturday before Christmas. My husband is doing okay, he has his times where he gets down, but that is only to be expected. Please be in prayer for him if you would.

I had to work yesterday, and it was a cold, wet day. It actually sleeted on my while I was out delivering mail. I nearly froze. I will have to get some better gloves and some tights to wear under my clothes to keep my legs warner. For some reason the heater in the LLV didn't seem to be working as well as it did last year. I got wet while delivering to the apartments and then got cold. Today I am a little stuffy and my ear feels full. I hope that I don't get sick over it.

For Christmas, Santa brought me a new digital SLR camera and a zoom lens to go with it. I was so excited about it. I can't wait to get out and use it. I did take some photo's here Christmas evening. I will include a few at the end of the post if I can remember how to add photo's here.

The kids seemed really pleased with what they got. Lauren also got a camera like me, only with just one lens. And she also got some other things that she asked for. Megan got a small video camera, a really nice guitar, an American Girl doll and clothes, and a Nintendo DS lite with three games. She said she got everything on her list! She was pleased. Noah got a spring jumping horse that makes sounds, an easel, some clothes, a nerf basketball set, some bath toys and a build-a-bear monkey, he calls George. Andrew got a new flat panel monitor for the computer, a wireless keyboard and mouse, some jeans, cologne, an MP3 player, a Sushi making kit, and a few odds and ends.

Andrew has always made Christmas a big deal for us. So he works hard to see that the kids get what they ask for. And they usually do, but they also realize that they are blessed and are very appreciative of the sacrafices that are made so that Christmas is a big day.

Well, I will try to post a couple of photo's now. If I can figure it out. Actually I will add them to my flickr badge, it is easier to do it that way.
