Well, Christmas has come and gone another year. It was quiet here, just the five of us. The kids were very happy with the things they got for Christmas. Megan said once again, this was the best Christmas ever, until next year! We ate a late breakfast of bacon, biscuits, and grits, then we snacked on things until later in the day and we had a big supper of ham, cornbread dressing, dirty rice, sweet peas, rolls, cherry pie and brownies. We then relaxed and enjoyed our evening. I got a handsfree ear piece for my cell phone so when I am driving the mail truck, I can talk on the phone if I need to, Andrew gave me an ipod to listen to while working. The kids got me pj's, a stylish bag to carry Noah's diapers and things in, and cologne. Santa also brought an XM satelite radio for the family to use. The most wonderful part of all it was being with my family, sharing the time together and everyone just relaxing for the day. We have a tradition on Christmas eve, every year we gather around in the living room and Andrew reads from the bible the Christmas story and we think about the real reason for the season. Saturday night we drove into Little Rock to see the lights and to go to Sherwood Forrest to drive through the light show they have there. Our church sign said: We are the reason, He was the gift. We are the reason He came to earth as a baby, so that He could commune with us and bring about a way of salvation that involved a more personal relationship, not just one of sacraficing a lamb to roll our sins away. But He became the lamb and sacraficed Himself at the cross, so that our sins could be washed away and we could commune with Him in a personal way, just like He once did with Adam in the garden. After the fall, we were seperated from Him, but when He came to earth, He once again walked with man, now, through salvation, we walk with Him and commune with Him daily and have that personal relationship once again. So we were the reason He left the splendor of Heaven to come to earth as a lowly child, walked with man, and gave Himself so that we could have eternal life with Him. That is the greatest gift anyone could ever receive. May God's sacrafice not be in vain in each of our lives. May we daily celebrate that gift, not just at Christmas time. God bless each of you.
