A week till Christmas...

Wow! one week till Christmas!  I am not ready.  I am going to finish my shopping today, hopefully.  I am usually the one out on Christmas eve trying to finish up everything.  But not this year!  With the help of God, I will finish it today!!(maybe)  I think I can, I think I can...

The girls had a shorter list this year, thank God, but they were pricer gifts.  I have their main items they asked for, but I have to get the rest.  I only have a couple of things for Noah, but I am at a loss at what to get him.  He already has so much.   So it is a challenge to find something that will be worth buying that he will really enjoy instead of just buying something that will be added to the pile.

Andrew is off today, he is taking our pigs to the slaughter house.  So we will definately have pork for a while.  Other than seafood, pork is absolutely my favorite meat.  If I had nothing but seafood and pork, I'd be perfectly satisfied.  We are hoping to get about 300 pounds of meat out of them.  When he gets back from the slaughter house, then I am going shopping.  I just haven't been in the Christmas spirit this year.  We put our tree up in the dining room this year.  Why you ask?  Well Noah isn't allowed into the dining area alone, his area is the living room.  So we knew the tree would be safe there, and he would be safe.  The girls weren't happy about it at first, but they have adjusted.  Next year maybe it can go back into the living room without fear that Noah will hurt himself with the tree.  I didn't even decorate the front porch.  I usually put lights and bows and garland, but this year, I just didn't have it in me and I was busy with training for work and learning a new job, and adjusting to having a job outside of the home.  So just a tree, and actually we haven't been able to find the star for the top of the tree... I am going back to the storage shed tomorrow to see if I can find it.  We always have an angel or star on the top of the tree, and it looks so unfinished without it.  As the girls were growing up, they each took turns each year being picked up by Andrew so they could place the angel or star on the top of the tree.  They were very upset when we couldn't find it in the Christmas tote.  I know there must be another tote with it in it that Andrew overlooked when getting the decorations out of the shed.

Well, need to get up and get going got a lot of shopping to do, so I need to get ready for that.  Hopefully I will come home tired this afternoon, but fulfilled with accomplishment.
