Sugar Bend Farm

Eventful Saturday

Today started with my Andrew and I going to get fencing at Home Depot.  But it was to expensive there so we drove to the next town to Lowe's.  We ended up getting the fencing there.  We came home and picked up Megan and she and Noah, Andrew and I went to the livestock auction.  We ended up buy another goat.  We got a kid.  She was just recently weaned from her momma.  We bid on the mom, but she went to high and we got out of the bidding.  She had triplets and we ended up bidding on the doe.  The other two were bucks.  The mom was a registered boer.  The kid is so cute.  We named her Lucy.  After getting her home, while my husband put in fence post, I went to the grocery store and bought food for supper.  We had some friends of ours over to eat.  I fixed bbq pork and beef ribs.  One of the guest doesn't eat pork so that is why I fixed both.  We usually just eat pork ribs.  Anyway, we had a good visit and now I am tired from the day.  Lauren is gone now to youth prayer meeting.  So I guess I won't be able to go to bed until she gets in.  Noah is in his swing asleep and Megan is practicing playing some chords on the guitar that her dad taught her.  She is trying to learn to play.  She wants to learn to play piano, but the lady that I was going to get to teach her is having a baby this month and isn't teaching right now.  So that will have to wait.

I bought a McSpadden dulcimer last year, but haven't learned to play it yet.  It was just to hard to try to do anything while I was pregnant, then we moved and there has just been so much going on.  Hopefully things will slow down some and I can take some lessons and learn to play it some.  I have always loved the sound of a dulcimer.  Although I am really not musical, I am going to try to play it for my own pleasure anyway.

Well, I need to get Noah ready for bed and finish cleaning up the kitchen and try to get to bed at a decent hour.

The goats sound like fun; so tempting to always get more! Hope you are able to have time for your dulcimer soon!
