New things on my horizon

Well, in the past week that I haven't been blogging a lot has happened. First, I turned 40!!! Yes, 40! Oh well, it is done, so move on. I also went for drivers training for my new job, and started training at the post office where I will be working out of. I am pleased so far with everything. I go tomorrow and drive with the driver that I will be a sub for, to learn the route. I am a little nervous, but I am not thinking about it ahead of time, just praying and asking God to help me do well. I will be working mostly on Saturday's. Which turned out well, because Andrew will be home most Saturday's with the kids. And I don't have to drive my vehile for delivery. I will be driving a postal truck, even though it is considered a rural route. But acutally it is in subdivisions. The route is in two very nice subdivisions and should be a good route to deliver for. Although my supervisior said that this route has the highest volume of mail of all the routes out of the post office. And I am starting at the busiest time of the year. So if I can get this down, then I could do any route they have. So help me pray that all goes well. I will probably work Wed to learn how to take down the mail and load the truck. I will have to drive for part of the route tomorrow and then the remainder of the route Wednesday. So the next two days will be full and stressful. But I am trusting that God blessed me with this job and I trust Him to help me do it well.

Well, other than that, my mom is going tomorrow for a scan. Something showed up at her last appointment and her dr wants her to have a scan done. I am concerned about it. She has had breast cancer twice and had masectomy's and took chemo last year. So I am concerned about her. I am praying and trusting that God has it all in control and will take care of it. But I can't help but be worried. Please help me pray for her.

Andrew is off this week and we all went to town today and bought supplies for Thanksgiving. I found Noah a Christmas suit. He will be wearing a suit jacket with vest and tie. He will look just like the little man that he is. We will be having Thanksgiving dinner here at home, just the five of us. My parents just left to go back home and Andrew's family is having Thanksgiving in Tennessee. Some friends from church invited us over to their house, but it has been two years since we had it at home, so we decided to stay here and have a full Thanksgiving dinner here at home. Andrew's mom is coming the first part of December to help with the kids while I attend more training. It will be four long days for me and I don't want to leave the kids like that for that long and that many days in a row. So she is coming to help. My parents were here last week with them while I went to drivers training. I don't mind leaving them for a day, because Lauren is 17 going on 18; there are some people that have kids of their own at that age; but since she isn't use to doing everything for such a long time, I would rather someone be with them for long days like that. Once she gets use to it, I may not mind so much, but for now, she is just getting adjusted to Noah's routine and having someone here that has raised children before will help. I am glad that my normal work day will be on Saturday. I don't want to put too much on her, but I will be paying her like a babysitter, so she will benefit also. But at least with my normal work day on Saturday, she won't have to worry about doing school work or seeing to Megan's school work. They can just spend the day taking care of Noah. I will have to work some other days at times, like when the usual driver needs a personal day or is sick or on vacation, but I am hoping that won't be anytime soon so Lauren and Megan can get use to the routine.

Well, Noah is asleep, and I have a few things to do tonight. I have to leave for work a little before 10:00 in the morning, so I need to get to bed soon.
