Negativity

Yesterday I decided to try and rid my life of all this negativity.  I have been in a deep funk for a while and need something to pull myself up by. I have been going through a trial and it seems as though I have been under a cloud for sometime.  I have prayed about it and I am still here, so I feel that God has a lesson for me to learn through the trial.  So my prayer is that I learn the lesson well, so that I don't have to travel this road again.  But in the meantime, I decided to post positive quotes and bible verses around the house for me to read throughout the day.  Positive upbeat messages going into my brain instead of the negative, depressing thoughts that I have a tendency to think about when going through a time such as this.  The bible tells us to do this. In Philippians 4:8 it says:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
So I am going to think on positive things, and since on my own, right at the moment, I am lacking in positive thoughts, due to my state of human nature to only see the down side of things, I am going to take all the help I can get to lift my spirits out of this dump I have found myself in.  Don't get me wrong.  I am thankful, I am very thankful and I count my many blessings each day.  God has been so good to me, and I have many things to thank Him for, but perhaps it is a matter of genes or just a bit of depression that I am feeling, but I do need something to lift me out of this bit of a bog that I find myself in.  Anyway, I placed some positive quotes on the fridge yesterday and plan to print out some today to place on the bathroom mirror and I am putting one on my screen saver on my computer.  Each time I see them, I plan to read them and repeat them until they become the thoughts that I think, instead of those of negativity that want to pop up like weeds in my garden of life.  I am going to flood my self with positive so that there is no room for the negative to grow.  I told my daughter that I wanted to get the bible on cd for my birthday or Christmas, so during the day, I can play them and the word can go into my mind as I am going about my day.  As it is now, I love news, so I listen to NPR throughout the day.  But as we all know, most news is negative, so instead of feeding my brain so much negative, I want to feed it positive things.  What can be more positive than the Word of God.  Sometimes I get busy throughout the day and don't get enough bible reading done, so this will help me to hear the word, put it into my mind and into my heart while I am doing my daily chores.  I have heard that listening to things like that can help you to learn whatever the content is; such as another language.  So I am going to try it with the one thing that we all need to learn, His Word. 

Next month I begin a new part of my life; I turn 40!  So there are things that I want to work on in my life, areas that I am currently dissatisfied with.  This is just a start, I will be blogging about others in the weeks to come.  So pray that I can attack each challenge before me in my quest to create the life I want to create for the next phase of my life.

I will pray for you. How you are feeling goes right along the lines of what I have been studying this week in the bible. It sounds like you are taking possitive actions... May the Lord bless you.
