Sugar Bend Farm

A Busy week

10:22 AM, 2006-Oct-11 .. 0 comments .. Link

Well this week has been busy for me.  Also a little lonely.  So I suppose I have tried to keep busy to get through the week.  Why is it lonely?  Well one thing is that my daughter, Lauren, is in Louisiana this week.  She has been there a week tomorrow.  She won't be home until Saturday night or it may be Sunday morning at church before I see her.  She is riding back with a friend from church and might just stay Saturday night with her instead of us having to drive the 25 miles to pick her up.  We can just meet her at Sunday School on Sunday morning.  Another reason for the lonely week is this is Andrew's weekend to work, so on the weekend he has to work, he also has to work late each day that week.  So it has been after 7:00 coming home each night.  So it has been some long days for Megan, Noah and I out here on the farm.  So I have used this week to do work that needs to get done, where as before I would just let things go a few days until I got around to it.  Each day this week I have made a list on the dry erase board that I keep in the kitchen.  ( I usually don't do good with lists.)  Each day I have completed most of my list.  So the next day I take what I didn't do the day before and put it on the top of the list for that day.  It keeps me busy and also makes me feel good about what I have done this week.

Yesterday I took Megan's comforter to the laundry mat to wash, because it is too large for my machine.  Well, I have washed it in my machine before, but it is so big, I am afraid that it may damage my machine if I do it too often.  It was the first time I have been to a laundry mat since we first moved to Padre Island in 2003.  Wow!  It cost $5.00 to wash it in a large capacity washer!  $5.00!!!  I was shocked!  Anyway, I brought it home and air dried it.

Well, let me get moving. Today I slept late because I couldn't sleep well last night and Noah woke me up several times and I was just exhausted!  So I was lazy this morning and slept later than usual.  So I need to get Megan started on school and I need to get going on my list.

Just a reminder to everyone that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Be active, be aware, do breast self-exams each month.  It can happen to you!  If you know someone who has been touched by breast cancer and you would like to remember them in a special way, go to Prevention and add a square to the virtual quilt of courage.  Here is one I did for my mom.
