Sugar Bend Farm

summer all around

I am sitting at my dining table looking out the big picture window onto the front porch.  I can see a tractor in the field across the road cutting hay, I have Breakfast in Bed playing on the cd player.  It is an easy listening cd I bought years ago along with several others that I so enjoy listening to.  They bring back so many memories from the past.  My youngest is in his swing asleep and Megan is in the pool in the back yard with Porsche, a friend of Lauren's that comes to stay with us every summer, and Lauren is on her way home from her new job.  She worked 10-2 today.  My husband is in the garage building a hutch for the bunny and I am content with the activities of summer.  My garden is growing, not as well as I had hoped.  I haven't put into it as much as I had planned, but what is there looks good.  The sun is shining and the temp is 93 degrees, so the mowing will have to wait until later in the day.  I always love summer.  It feels freeing.  School is out, kids are free and it almost feels like vacation all the time.  If it weren't for the bills, well, I could really kick back and enjoy.  That is of course, if hubby could be home and not have to work so much.  But thank God he has a good job, so I can't complain, well, I can, but you know what I mean.

Well, I need to get up and do something here.
