Thankful Tuesday

Today I am thankful for:

1. Salvation- God robed himself in flesh and came to this earth to suffer and die so that I could be saved from eternal damnation. For that I am thankful and thankful that my parents taught me truth and gave me a firm foundation in God's word.

2. My family- I am so thankful that God sent me a wonderful husband and blessed me with three beautiful children. Each time I look at my kids, I am humbled and am awed that God was so good to me and blessed me in such a wonderful way.

3. My church- I am so very thankful that God brought us here and directed us to the wonderful church that we have. I am thankful that we have a pastor that still teaches truth, without holding back, no matter what the current trends of this world are; he leads us and watches for our souls. I am thankful for the beautiful presence of God that we feel when we walk into the doors of the church. There is always an atmosphere of worship and prayer, because there is always someone there praying and worshipping God. It is truly a "house of prayer". Also I am thankful for the unity of the church family and even though we are large in number, in spirit we are a close family.

4. My home- I am thankful for the country home that God has provided for us. I love my big country porch and the land surrounding my house.

5. God's provisions- although there have been many times that we have been foolish in our spending and are still learning money management, God's provisions are always enough. He has provided Andrew with a good paying job that allows me to stay home and homeschool and care for our children. For that I am very thankful.

6. Health- God has kept us healthy and none of us have had any major illness or health crisis. We don't have to take medications of any kind and enjoy a fairly active lifestyle with minimual physical complaints.

7. My friends- God has blessed me with some really good friends in my life. Some of those friendships have carried through many changes and years and miles. I am thankful for true friends.

Although my list could continue to go on and on, I will stop with seven. One for each day of this week. I believe that counting your blessings and naming them, will help you to become a more thankful person and in turn you will become more blessed. Each day that we take another breath, God has allowed us to live a blessed day. Many times when I find myself in the mullygrubs, I count the blessings of God and I realize how very blessed I am and see that I have nothing to complain about. If God never gave me another blessing, what He has already given me, would be more than enough to keep me thanking Him for the rest of my life.

Take a little time each day to say Thank you to the Lord who has been so generous to each of us.
