Ramblings

Well, today hasn't been the best day.  Noah is teething again and is restless and clingy.  He didn't sleep good last night and neither did I.  I am so sleepy, I want to crawl back in bed and sleep.  But that is impossible because there is school to get finished and Little Boy Blue is wide awake and getting into everything he can.  So I will try to muddle through the rest of the day.  My arm is more of a bother than anything.  The pain is gone, just the caring for the burn that is such a problem.  I am just hoping that it doesn't get infected or scar to bad.  It is just preventing me from doing things that I need to get done.  Like working in the garden and that sort of thing.  But today I am so tired, I couldn't work in the garden for anything. 

We were suppose to go get another rabbit today.  But I may see if I can wait until tomorrow.  I'm just not up to even getting dressed and going out.  Tonight is church and I will be doing good if I make it there.  I am exhausted!  Have I said that already?    Anyway, on to other things.

Noah is growing so fast.  Yesterday he napped in his high chair.  He was so adorable!  He is learning so much each day.  He is trying to say bye-bye and wave his hand. 

He is also getting into everything.  I need to child proof the house a little better.  It has been ten years since I had to do that, so I have forgotten how.  I had also forgotten how they can find everything, no matter how small, things that the rest of us don't even notice.  He has very little interest in toys, he wants everything else that he can't have.

Megan is doing well in school.  We have almost completed the year.  We are trying to finish math for the year by tomorrow, at least by Monday.  Then we are going to finish the unit study in history this week.  And language will be completed by the end of next week.  The only thing left is to review in several things.  Then the school year will be over!  Thank God.  I am so looking forward to a nice summer so I can pursue activties that I enjoy, such as; crocheting, knitting, maybe sewing some, gardening, reading for pleasure, reading and more reading for pleasure.  Having time to work on a couple of writing projects that I hae started but don't seem to have time to work on, or when I do catch a moment or two, I feel bad because I should be spending more time on school related issues.  Megan is wanting to start a rabbitery.  So we are going to get a few more bunnies as the summer progresses.  Andrew just finished the chicken coop and we are going to build some hutches in the same building.  He also plans to get some quail and start raising quail. 

Lauren is going to continue her school through the summer.  She is trying to graduate.  She has a friend from Kentucky coming to stay the summer again.  But they have been informed that they have to get jobs this summer.  Mom can't finance all the activities that they want to do this year.  So it is time to get up and get a summer job.  At almost 17 years old, I don't think that is an unrealistic request.  It will do them both good.  Maybe they will see how hard it is to get all those "toys" that they want and learn to appreciate things a little better.  Lauren wants a car, but there is no way we can get her a car right now.  She will have to go to work to help get one.  Insurance alone has more than doubled since she got her licenes and was added to our insurance.  For three vehicles we are paying right at $400 a month for insurance.  That is crazy...but I won't go there right now. 

I am hoping for a slow and easy summer.  I think we are going to wait until fall to take vacation.  Andrew started working with a new company in January of this year, and will get a vacation after six months of employment, but with everything going on right now, we may wait until after the summer and then take a nice break in the fall and go somewhere.  I am sure that the kids and I will probably go to LA for a short trip at least one time over the summer.  We may make a long weekend trip to Tenn to see the inlaws, but other than that I hope to be home most of the time.  We have our annual camp meeting the first weekend in August and that is also right around Andrew's birthday and Lauren's birthday.  So we will have to plan something during that time.  Megan's birthday is the first part of summer and I have to figure out what I want to do for her party this year.  I want to plan something big, because most of the time since she was 5 years old, we have been away and didn't really have a big party for her.  So now that we are settled and she has friends nearby, I want to do something big for her.  Maybe a sleepover and swimming party, or maybe go to the funtastic place and have her party there.  She hasn't really said what she wants to do or what she wants for her birthday. 

She mentioned a laptop; but that sounds more like a Christmas gift than a birthday gift. 

Well, the animals are all doing fine.  We are still getting a few eggs from the hen.  We are going to let her start sitting on them and try to raise some.  The other hens aren't ready to lay yet.  Be glad when they do.  

Well gotta run.  Need to help Megan finish math.
