It's been very busy around here this summer !!!!!  I have so many great vegies coming in .  It has kept me very busy !!!  And you know you can't wait to long because fresh produce want wait on you ,LOL !!

My son is off to church camp this week . He was excited and a bit nervous when he left . I know he will love it after he has gone . He's been to boyscout camp alot . And it is alot different !!! He will be fine.

Next Wednesday is my son's 14th birthday ! Now this is Hard for me to believe . It has gone by so fast ,when I reflect over the years .

I have devoted my week with him at camp to start planning the first 6-wks of school for my now "HIGH SCHOOLER ".Thats going to take some geting used to saying !!!!! I decided to go with the Christian Liberty Academy School System .He is enrolled in the Class program . He will have different requirements to submits on a regular basics . Online math help at my fingertips or a phone call away . It's is an academic credit  system . They grade test and required activies . He will have to earn credits for  his High school Graduation. So, if all go's well we will plan a trip to the Campus in Arlinton Heights ,Illinois  . For my son to Graduate High School .  He does plan to go to college . So that is another reason I went with class . Class has alot of colleges that has accepted Class Graduates all over the united states . Some have even awarded Scholarships  to Class Students . 

I feel like we are on the right tract for my Son's high school years !!Happy summer to you all,be safe and have fun !!!! Shaune

This was when the sunflowers were small. The grapes are in the middle on top of fence.

This is about 2wks LATER !!!

The head of the plant got so heavy and huge after the rain we got this weekend ,that we had to prop the flower up with pvc pipe (had to us a ladder)to help it hold its head up . I have never grown such a tall sunflower before. You can see it is now taller that the guest house porch roof and the eves of my house .

 This is boysenberry vines ,kinda like black berries . The fruit is about the size of my thumb !!! A great big berry !!!! Good !!

Blessed with lots and lots of blueberries !!!!

I have been busy canning Salsa and pickles . And freezing blueberries . By the end of the week I'll can more salsa and can spaghetti sauce . The tomatoes are just starting to come in . I have been canning in small batches this year . By the end of July I'll have figs coming in . My family loves strawberry fig and peach fig jam . I am running low on both of them . I dry them for a great snack, also.  I still have alot of blueberry jam from last year . So we are good this winter on blueberry jam .

I am going to freeze some blueberry  and choc.chip  pancakes  .Maybe some french toast for the fall . I will also freeze blueberry muffins . It is much easier for my son to grab something quick and easy for breakfast . And I know that I have made it healthy for him . We also  love homemade granola bars . I try to keep them stocked ,but they don't last that long !!!!

My sunflowers are just starting to bloom . I have one flower that is very tall , I have never grown a sunflower that tall before . I guess Over 10 feet tall !!!  I'll have to get  pics  and post it !!! I dry the heads in the fall and we save the seeds to eat and feed the wild birds . I enjoy the sunflowers every year . They brighten up my yard and my life !! I'll chat later ,have a great week , Shaune

A garden doesn't have to be perfect !!  I believe that anybody can plant and have a garden . There is way to much Fantasy on television and all around us everyday . God's Word reminds us that our needs will be supplied through hard work .

To many people are waiting on others to take care of them . That is crazy !!! What happened to being a man and taking a stand for your family ? Waiting is such a waste of time. Which is laziness in my mind !!! It seems like everyone is waiting for that big perfect fantasy life to happen . Yeap ,I think that is funny !!!! Keep watching those silly shows on your TV . Better yet wait on your TV and it will rob you life from you . And that big dream will never happen . Because you are addicted to it . You could spend you time making your life become what you want it to be .

He who works his land will have abundant food, but he who chases fantasies lacks judgment. Proverbs 12:11

From a book I have , I will repeat what is says to share it with you . How does faith differ from fantasy ? It takes judgment to distinguish between the two ! Romans 10:17 says,"Consequently ,faith comes from hearing the message ,and the message is heard through the word of Christ ." Faith is always linked to the Sciptures . Fantasy is not !!!!

This is a recipe I got from my DH's Aunt

  Blueberry Crisp

  2-3 cups fresh blueberries

  1- stick of melted butter

  1- cup of sugar

  1- cup of flour

 In a 9 by 13 pan spray with pan spray. Then put mashed berries in the pan. Mix in a med bowl the melted butter sugar and flour all together . It will be crumbly .Now evening put it all over the top of berries . It want completely cover all berries. Bake uncovered for 25 to 35 mins at 350',or til nice and golden on top .

This crisp is great served warm ,or Our aunt said it is even better with vanilla ice cream !!!!!

It is a great fix if you want something sweet and cheap, and easy to make !!!!

I have been very busy these last 2 weeks . I will have to catch up with all of you . I haven't had time to get on my blog .  

I canned 7 quarts of pickles ,and put corn on the cob in the freezer .I put creamed corn in the freezer ,also . I spent some time with my DH's great aunt and she gave me lots of tips . It was a wonderful time as ussually when I visit her . She was canning lots of vegies herself . We sat outside and shucked (we had just picked)corn. We did alot of gardening talk .  And talked about how important farmers were ,etc.  She knows alot about farming and canning .  I love her so much ,we have alot in common . She is very real and down to earth . She calls it like it is . It's either black or white . And I am completely with her on that .

We (myself,my son,aunt )had lunch in town and hit a flea market . We all found some good stuff . Like new for a great deal !!! We had a simple but wonderful family time .

P.S my laying out in the sun during the week was abit more than I needed !!!! It was very relaxing ,but my back side got more than the front !!! LOL It was so red ,and painful ,still some . It was very hot that day !!!! Now I will get my tan on !!!! We are going tubing and to a water park July and I didn't want to roast then and be in pain . So ,I needed to start my tan for this year to help prevent myself from burning later . I know your all thinking that girl is so crazy !!!! 

I have a small wedding tomorrow that we are going to . It should be lots of fun . As long as nobody hugs me to tight LOL !!!!!After the wedding we might go see a movie for Father's Day .Then we plan to go to Lowe's and get a few things .We also wanted to get out new fishing license. Since we will be in that area ,50 miles from home .Might as well get it all done ,and save on gas !!! Wishing everyone a Safe and Happy Father's Day weekend .Thats all for now folks ,  Shaune

I finally bake my own Wheat Bread !!! It was so much fun and very easy !!! My DH even made a loaf with me . I was very pleased with the turn out . It was nice to eat a sandwich with the bread that we baked . My DH brought sandwiches to work to just show off the bread. LOL . He never brings sandwiches to work . We have already baked more bread and froze it . I got the recipe from the HIllbilly Housewife site about 1 year ago. And just decided that I was going to try it . Heck, I make and bake everything else ,why not  try it . I turned out so beautiful  !!! I don't think my family will every want to eat store bread again . I know it's healthier for my family . It does take some time to rise and make . But ,so very worth it to see the smiles on my families face !!! See if I can make bread ,you all can to !! I really didn't think I could make sandwich bread at home and it turn out so good . Have a great week ,Shaune
