God had blessed us with a beautiful day today. I was up well before the sun and did the barn chores, went into the village to get petro. Lovely to see the prices in fuel have dropped once again. then drove into the city to pick up my new convection oven that came in yesterday. Back home before the luch hour.
Vanessa has a cold today. It actuallycame around yesterday morning before she got up and going. She looks awful but says feels okay. She did all her required schoolwork this morning and is laying in bed reading one of the library books I picked out for her.
Amanda never came home yesterday to get her laundry. I guess she is babysitting that youngster who's mom just had another baby. Oh well she will come by for the laundry sometime soon.
Grace is off playing her harp today. Don't know what song she has chosen but I'm sure all will be well.
I am looking forward to using my new oven. Cooking on a cookstove for every meal is getting tiring by this time of the year.
The sun is out yet it is -20C with the windshield. the sun is warm and inviting. I hung the towels on the line today. Stiff as boards now but oh that spring smell. Wonderful. |

The day begins before the sun is up. Will it be sunny or not? The weather man says snow for the day, but he seems to be wrong lately. I don't ever remember the cold spell we just had in the forcast, but we got and and am glad to see it now over. March came in like a ...........? Cold but sunny. A lamb perhapes?
Today is soup day. I have leftover steak in the fridge so it shall be beef soup, although that enither was in the plans for the day.
Vanessa has to write a Litercy test in order to get a completion for high school. the test is done grade 10 usually but since she is homeschooled I have to make arrangments for it to be written at the high school. I have made 5 phone calls so far and no one ever returns my calls. Today I will make an appointment to see the principal and get it over with. I know they aren't to friendly with me because we homeschool our children but the law is the law and even the principle can't change that.
Grace is in a fowl mood this morning. What is it with 9 year olds? She wants to play, but that isn't the order of the morning and she is going to have to live with it.
Off to hunt down a recipe for soup, then mending of clothes. Expect Amanda over later to pick up her laundry I did for her yesterday. |
