Home centered
Blogging is something totally new to me. I guess that I am a little behind the times. Even my, in her sixties, mom-in-law has been doing this for years. However, I am trying to turn over a new leaf and thought this might be a way to help with that. Sometime last week I decided that the image I portrayed to my friends and family wasn't truely who I am or who I one day want to be. I was pretty depressed. That same day I got a free newletter called New Harvest Homestead that really lit me up. It was saying the things that I hadn't even been able to put into words. Although my family isn't able to move out of the suburbs yet, I am going to try to homestead the best that I can from the home that I am in. And my goal is to become much more home centered. I am hoping this site will be like a documentary on my transformation, well let's just hope I can figure out how to make whole grain bread that isn't hard as a rock. Wish me luck.

I just wanted to pop in and say welcome and I look forward to reading your posts. Homesteading, in the city or country, is a wonderful thing. As you learn how to do more, your confidence grows and you try even more. Enjoy your journey!

HI - I just started blogging about a week ago myself. I know you were probably just joking about the bread but that when I started making whole wheat bread it WAS like a rock - at least I thought. My husband really liked the idea of it and was very encouraging to keep trying it. I finally got Crystal Millers bread directions that she sells on her site www.thefamilyhomestead.com and there has been a miraculous change in my bread! Even non whole wheaters love this stuff and I cant make it fast enough. I even love it and that says a lot. Give it a try, it is worth the few dollars she asks for it.
Good luck!

hey - New Harvest Homestead is great - I have never received it, but when I heard about it, it led me here and I found others like me! I was also in suburbia when I started, but the Lord moved us to "the back end of nowhere" as my sister says, and I KNOW He led me here in preparation for such a day!
Welcome. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
