A little about me and my family

This entry will focus on me and my family so that all of those that read this blog will find out more about me and my life.

I am 24 years old. I recently got married to a wonderful man, Kyle, on April 22, 2006. (Pictures can be seen at www.hogerfamily.myphotoalbum.com if you'd like to see wedding pictures and honeymoon pictures.)

We live in Southern Illinois, in a small town called Herrin. We moved here after the wedding from the Chicago suburbs. We both were raised in smaller towns in the midwest, so the small town of Herrin drew our attention when looking for a place to move.

The reasoning behind our move was Kyle's schooling. He has his Associates degree, but is going to transfer to Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, hopefully this coming Spring. His goal is to get his degree in Spanish. He doesn't have any particular plans, as of yet, for this degree. However, his dream is for us to live in Mexico coordinating missions trips.

We do not own our own home yet, but someday we hope to. I still work outside the home, but would like to eventually stay home (when we have children of our own). It has always been my dream to have a home of my own to take care of, and children to stay home with. I look forward to the day that the Lord blesses us with either or both. :)

I am very interested in sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, baking, cooking and all other types of things that have to do with keeping a home. I didn't grow up with a mother who taught me how to do these things, so I'm starting out slow and on my own. I have found that I love to bake and cook... finding new recipes to try is always fun. Sewing and quilting are harder for me as I do not have a sewing machine and I don't have a lot of time to sew by hand, but I do work on some small projects here and there.

Well, this entry has gotten longer than I expected it to. I hope that it's length does not keep you from reading.
