Busy Hands

Busy hands... Yes, I have had busy hands. With 8 days left before the festival, my hands need to be busy.  I am trying to keep them busy without hindering my job as mother, teacher, cook, launderer, referee, judge, doctor and so much more. If anyone is interested in any dishcloths I am going to put some in the shop today. Have a great day.

Crafting...

Hello friends.  I am so glad you dropped by for a visit today.  My pile is growing right? I have been spending most of my alone time in the evening working on different projects for the festival, only 22 more days!  I have actually sold 2 sets of pumpkins off my kitchen table, so I am thankful for that.  I know I had someone say they were interested in buying but didn't know how, just click here on my Etsy shop or you can look over to your left and click... you can find all my goodies there. :) Thanks!
Like I said, Shannon has been on an out of town job and so I have had quite a bit of time to myself after the children have gone to sleep... so my hands have been busy.
We have been schooling wherever I have been crafting... it is nice to spread books all over the floor and let the children work, a change of scenery is good for them sometimes. :)
I again want to thank you all for your kind comments and prayers for us during this time of uncertainty.  We are so blessed to have so many care for us and pray for us.  We appreciate you guys more than you know!!!
***Hey, is the Autumn Cottage too big for you ya'lls screen, it fits on mine, but I don't want it to be wonky on others. Please let me know.***
xoxo

Much Love

Honestly... how sweet are you guys? Thank you so much for your heartfelt comments on my last post, well, all my posts... you guys are terrific.  I truly know God's Hand is at work in our situation.  I am confident that we will be victorious through this trial.  xoxo
Something rather exciting is coming up 'if' I can get things moving.  There is a craft show at the end of this month that I am going to enter.   I KNOW!  I have never entered a craft fair before.  No, it is not one that you win a prize or anything, just one that you rent a booth and set up.  I have some things in the works...
Pumpkins of course... it is the perfect time of year for them... and I just LOVE them!
My dishcloths...
The quilted table square I have made and hopefully a few more...
Maybe some soft shoes...
My sweetie snowman...
Maybe a few of these Lil' Pumpkin Onesies...
My head is SPINNING! I am so excited and I just want to get things made so I can do this.  If this year I do alright I could really plan and enter next year and be able to make things ALL year until the time of the fair.
If you are interested any almost any of these items you can visit My Etsy~Heritage Acres Farm Goods most everything is there.  Have a great day friends, enjoy this Labor Day with your family!
Love to you all,

Sewing and such

I have been a sewing maniac lately.  I had a few stitches to finish up on a wedding gift that I finished a few days ago... My Mom has her 50th birthday party coming up Saturday and there are a few odd and end projects in my head.  Here is the wedding gift.  Pillowcases that just say newly married to me...
I enjoyed these pillowcases because I adore French knots, and these had several. Woohoo!
I am totally in love with my newest project... it is something I am making for my Mom, and I think it is just grand.  From time to time she reads my blog so I am hesitant to post a picture... I will after I am finished and I give it to her.
I am going to be making some jam today and will be helping my sister move later on... so I must run, it is late and I am behind... I stayed up WAY too late sewing last night.  Have a Terrific Thursday.

Wednesday's Plans

Good Morning!
I have the feeling that my blog has been less than exciting to my few but faithful readers.  I apologize for that.  I want to give those of you who pass by or for those of you who come here intentionally something worthy of reading, but then again... it is just me, a 32 year old gal whose duties are too numerous to name... so sometimes my life just isn't thrilling... and I don't apologize for that, because I truly love my simple life!   I am thankful to all my readers and I hope that you enjoy your moments here and I pray that I can encourage or uplift or inspire you in some way and if nothing else maybe what is here will bring a smile.
Life is good around here.  We are adding a small deck on the back of the house today, I have my pile o'rocks waiting on me outside to start building my earth oven, the garden is coming along nicely, the concrete floor will be poured for the root cellar today HOORAY!
For those of you with questions on the root cellar, it may be a long process, but I will do my best to keep up with how much one would cost to build.  The book that I am referring to says $1500, but it might be dated... so I will let you know...
We have our AWANA closing ceremonies tonight followed by a fellowship supper! Woohoo! Those are always fun.  I look forward to this evening.
I am trying to fight off a cold that is trying to creep up on me.  Garlic and OJ are my friends right now, trying to ward it off... I don't have time to be sick!!
We have a wedding shower on Saturday and I am working on getting the gifts finished.
I must run and stitch a little this morning before the children wake.  I hope you all have a GREAT day!

Lovely times...

Good Morning!!  We had a rather nice weekend, it stormed on Saturday so that meant my beloved stayed indoors with me! I always like to have him close! Had it not rained, we have been waiting to build our chicken coop.  For the past several Saturday's it has rained, or snowed, or something else had to be done... so we are still waiting.  If it is nice this week, we might have to try to do a little in the evenings.
The two little ones are still not completely well, but they are very much improved.  I think we may have had a slight setback on Saturday.  Carlie Jean woke up Sunday with a terrible earache and they both still had a cough.  We thought it best for them to stay home and so I stayed home with them and Shannon took the two oldest to church, and what a blessed service they had, he was just overjoyed at the movement of the Spirit in the service.  I was in tears as he told me about everything.
On Saturday I was able to get in my sewing room for a while, which I adore.
I made up some quilt blocks...
And I haven't shown this yet to you but I have been wanting to get a thread organizer for a while, and they don't have them at our Walmart.  So when we were at a different one a few weeks ago, I bought one... oh my, what a wonderful way to spend $10! I love it!
I plan on mounting it on the wall behind where it is sitting, to free up my very limited desk space.  After putting quilt squares together, I decided to make something for My Etsy and so I was inspired by this retro fabric, and got busy on this little outfit!  I just love it!
We were supposed to spend the day today on a picnic, but the children aren't really ready for that, plus it is not supposed to be nearly as warm as last week.  It may be put off until Friday, that looks to be the warmest and most dry day this week.  We are technically on Spring Break this week, but you know how it is with Homeschooling... every day we learn, every day we 'school'.  And when we do say, "Oh, we are taking a week off"... the kids end up saying, "Hey, Mom! Can we do some school?" So we will see what this week holds.
I hope you have a terrific Monday.

Last Week's Sewing

Good Morning!
Last week I did a little sewing.  I needed to make a birthday present and I joined a tote bag swap over at Rhonda Jean's Down--to--Earth blog.
So I got inspired and made 3. The first is the one I made for my friend Lori's birthday last week.  I thought it was very much her, and it would be useful to her as well.  I don't think I have ever been so pleased with a new project!

This second one is the one I will be sending in to the swap.
The fabric is not as stiff as the one above.  It is more woven and boy is it thick!  It turned out nicely also.

This last one was just for fun.  I had some vintage (old ) sheets and pillowcases I bought up while yard saleing one day and had not used them yet. So I decided to get a bit creative and use several of them at once.

I LOVE this one.  It is so me!  I have taken it with me to the farmers market and such places and I want to use it, but I am quite selective on what goes in there.  I don't want to stain it up. I will use this one more for books, or packs of seeds... such like that!
The inside I lined it with a blue gingham... another favorite of mine!

Living simply, it is a passion of mine.  I want my family to know that it doesn't take much to have an abundant life.  We have air in our lungs and love in our hearts, a beautiful world that the Lord has given for us to enjoy.  We need to make the most out of everything, out of each and every day and yet not fall into the rat race that this world has to offer.
Garden, cook from scratch every day, learn to knit or crochet, sew, make the most out of the simple things... and then teach them to your children.
Love to all!
