Birthday Party Tragedy

Tuesday night we had a birthday party for my 2 youngest.  Carlie Jean's birthday was in July and Abram's birthday was last week so we combined the two and had one party.  Now in our family it is quite a gathering to get mostly family and a few friends together... and I LOVE it!!!!! I LOVE all the kids running around, I love all the gathering of the ladies and all the men talking in another place.  It is so fun to watch!  I rarely get in many of the conversations for Mrs. Hostess has to do quite a lot of running around!
But when I do sit and talk after most of the stuff is done it is so enjoyable!
Well, we had just finished presents and began with cake and ice cream when someone came in and said... "I think your big rabbit is dying!"  Oh no, I said... What is she doing?  Well, they explained and then I said... She is in labor!!!!
We were expecting her to have babies at any time.  So of course the children were tuned in and quite afraid of why the rabbit was acting soooo strangely.  After Basil (our Moma rabbit) delivered two dead premature babies... she died herself.  It was a sad moment and to all parents of children who were at my house at the time, I am sorry if there has been many questions!  We then had the men move the other rabbits to a shadier spot.... it has been so terribly hot here and NO rain at all that I think between a hard delivery and the heat it did her in. 
Well, sorry for the sad story... but in the end Cameo (the one who was most affected) asked me "Why???"
I told her that sometimes God uses times like that to make us more appreciative of things.

so sorry..

I'm so sorry for your family's loss, and at such a hard time! I believe you had grace under fire with your answer to "Why?" After having a kitty funeral a few months ago, I can appreciate the difficulty of answering that question. God is Good, but his lessons aren't always easy ones. Peace. Shari
