Heritage Acres Homestead

Likened to a Strawberry Patch

Yesterday, my husband and I set forth to 'weed' the strawberry patch.  We started and got a good bit done but only about 1/2 of the patch.  We will have to finish tomorrow.
When I went out to take my pictures this morning, I realized how life is likened to a strawberry patch... or any garden can me likened to life...

When we are walking  in fellowship with our Lord and keeping Him in  first place .  Seeking Him and  praying  and spending time in His word we are clean, we are on the right track we are  on the right path.

However...
When life starts to crowd you... obligations, wants, fun, entertainment, duties, money, stuff.... we can become overwhelmed... there is not enough time for everything and so often we let our sweet fellowship time with the Lord suffer.  What happens.... we become overrun with things, stuff, running.

If let go for too long, the stuff can consume us, until we are longer recognizable as a 'strawberry'... can you find the plant in the above picture?

But Praise be to God for His Love and Forgiveness... so easily we slip, so easily we get sidetracked with everything but Him.  But when we realize what we have done, we can ask for Forgiveness and He is Faithful and will clean us right up and prompts us 'weed' out much of the stuff that is taking our attention.

Ain't God good?? (A former pastor of ours used to say that!)

I am so thankful for the gentle reminders from my Lord that I am so much like the strawberries.  I am the one who can begin to 'run' a different way if not kept close to the One who made me.  I am the one who can let weeds choke the life out of me... I am the one who needs Him to lead and guide me and make my paths straight!!! WOW!! Thank  you Lord for your guidance.

I hope you all have a wonderful day... I am going to go down to our Thursday flea market day and do our running around town, first thing this morning.. afterwards, I will go and clean the church a day early because a wedding is going to be held Saturday.
Have a wonderful day my friends!

This was beautiful post for today and it really got me thinking about how I can keep my "garden" free from all "weeds" and anything that might choke off my "strawberries"!
I must make time every day for the Lord's Word and for quiet time with Him- in that quietness and in His gentleness (as our dear friend, Jewels likes to say) there I will find true peace!
