You CAN have a Sewing Room

A few years back when my husband and I decided it was time to knock down a couple of walls for an expansion to our living room I was torn.  YES!!! I wanted a new, larger living room for our growing little family but if I did, I would have to give up my sewing room.  I knew that we needed the living room more than I needed my sewing room.  After we began planning we found out that one of the walls needed to expand the room could not come down.  It was the wall that connected the sewing room with the hallway.  At the time of the crisis we decided... No problem, that will be another closet!  Still grieving the loss of my precious sewing room I was determined I would find a way to have both!!
My ingenious Mother, who I think could make just about anything work, suggested that I make my old hallway my sewing room.    WHAT?? I said!  It is only 3 feet wide and 6 feet long.  She said, Just wait and see.

Well, it was indeed true, and now I have a great little room for my sewing and crafting fancies.
So all that to say.... If I can make a cute little nook for myself then I am sure if you need an area for sewing you will probably make it work too.
Do you have any area that is not being used for something???? A smallish room, part of a bedroom, laundry room that is bigger than you really need for laundry??? Ponder upon it, you might be surprised with what you can come up with!

A few old shelves?  A Dh that can build you a few???  Or even yourself???

It can be done!    Just look at me with a little 3X6 hallway turned sewing room!! AND I LOVE IT!!!!!!
Have a great day!
Blessings,
Chas

Fun!

I think your mama's brilliant! I love having spots for 'stuff"... meaning... I don't have to dig stuff out of storage to use it... I can go to the "spot" and use it. Even if it is small! Love it.
Warmly, Melissa
