Today we had everything to get back on schedule. Today is my anniversary, but Dh and I celebrated it New Year's Eve (went out to eat) so tonight is just another night. Tomorrow is my Mom's 78th birthday. Im sure my daughter and I will go over tomorrow afternoon and take her a little something. Since she is in the process of moving she doesn't really need or want anything. I hope she gets moved before too much longer. Her house is in such bad shape. The foundation is horrible. Oh, tomorrow is also the birthday of Elvis. My mom use to love the fact that she and Elvis had the same birthday. I hope everyone had a great start to their week today. Carole |

Today has been such a warm day. My dd came out in a swim suit this afternoon. I explained to her that I didn't think January was the right time of year for that. But it was really nice today. Today was the first day for our new preacher at our church. We have been without one for sometime, so it was nice to have him there to start the new year. It's really been pretty quite around here today, after church we came home to clean out our shed. So much stuff. I don't know how we collect so much junk! My mother will be moving in with us in a few months, so we are trying to get things ready so that she will have room for the things she would like to bring with her. She has been in the same house for 30 years, so there are many memories and things she would like to hold on to. Have a wonderful week! Carole |

Saturday is always my day to go to the grocery store for my Mom. She is not able to drive because of health issues, so for the past 5-6 years I have taken her to all of her doctor's appointments and done her shopping for her. I am so thankful that the Lord has blessed me with being able to help her. My Daddy passed away almost 19 years ago. I still miss him! My Daddy always had a way of making everything right. But I know my heavenly Father is always with me, looking over me and guiding me. My son only got the spend one year of his life with my Daddy before he passed. I hate that my daughter never got to know him. Today is day 4 on my diet. It's going ok, I do feel better and really don't want any of the junk things I would normally eat. At least I don't want them right now, I may in a couple of hours!! Have a great weekend! |

Today we went into town, had to mail a package and meet a friend to pick up some clothes that her daughters can no longer wear. Hopefully my daughter can wear them. We came home and we had the best time going through everything, seeing what would fit and what wouldn't. Everything that doesn't fit we pass back to my dear friend to give to another family.
Today is day 3 on my diet. I feel really lightheaded today. But I think that is because I cheated a little today. So I am vowing to stay really strict from now on. I know I have to do this and I know that the Lord will give me strength to do this. Tonight we are having baked Tilapia with green beans and a salad. |

It's really cold here today, well cold for central Mississippi. We don't get many cold days. I enjoy the ones that we have. I think it will be around 70 this weekend. You just never know what a day will bring. Today is day 2 on my diet. So far it has been ok. Just wishing for some bread! Tonight I think we will have vegetable beef soup. Hubby will be bowling tonight, so just my daughter and me will be eating. She had her visit with her pulmunary Dr. yesterday. She has had pertussis (whooping cough) took all the Dr's we went to over 3 months to find it. We finally went to one that knew just what it was, although she was no longer testing positive for it. Three other Dr's had diagnosed her with vocal cord dysfunction. We have seen so many doctors since August and been in the hospital for 5 days with this. It has been so good to actually know what she has has a name. But they say she may be bothered with it for up to one year, since it wasn't treated from the beginning. What makes me so mad is that I asked her first Dr if he thought it could be Whooping Cough (there had been an outbreak of it a few counties over) and he said " NO, not at all!" She had had her immunizations just for some reason hers had worn off or it never took, not sure the exact reason. But oh well, she is getting better, thank the Lord! |

I am married with two children, a 7 year old daughter and a 19 year old son. We live about 20 minutes from the nearest town. I love that we live as far out as we do, although I would love to live even farther out. We have two dogs, just adopted the second one. I love to garden, cook and help with my daughter's girl scout troup.
My husband and I have decided to start the South Beach Diet today. So far I am starving! I know we have to do it. We have gone too long without exercise and not really watching what we are eating. We have to get healthy again! Today we had eggs for breakfast, salad for lunch and I think we will have chicken for supper. It's really alot of planning ahead, we live too far from a grocery store to go that often. The nearest town to us doesn't have a grocery just a Dollar General. Hopefully we can get through the first few days without quitting the diet. |
