Kellogg Christian Academy Gym Class

So as a homeschool educator, I need to implement some sort of physical exercise into our daily routine. So this is one of my least favorite things to do. I will admit. My dh made a great suggestion and I am totally on board. This is were The Kellogg Christian Academy Gym Class was born. Each day this week, dh,I, and boy wonder are doing 1 push up,1 sit up, and 1 windmill. Yes Yes I know, this is not very much. You might guess though that I am so out of shape with my arms and my abs(after 2 babies) that I can not do one full situp or a pushup . Oh well. I always hated gym class and swore I would never do a situp or pushup in my life again. I did hold out for 12yrs, but the time has come to suck it up and join the team. Next week we will do 2 each day and so on and so forth, maybe one of these days God will grant me the strength to get a situp and pushup done. .

Sounds great! We go to a weekly physical edu. class at the YMCA during the school year. We're members there, so I can walk the track while the boys have class. It's worked out great for us!

Casondra,
I know you are still recovering from your c-section, but may I make a suggestion?
Last year I lost 30 pounds by walking....just walking. I did not diet at all.
Once you are feeling better, if you have a stroller you and boy wonder can take the baby for a walk. Start off with maybe 15 minutes each day at a comfortable pace. You will find it takes about one month of walking for your legs to get stronger. Up the amount each week by around 5 minutes.
I now walk 50 minutes every day. On the weekends I sometimes do my walk twice in a day. Not only will you lose weight, you will find that you sleep much better and much deeper. It will also give you and boy wonder a pleasant time to talk as you walk.
I don't walk at a fast pace, just a comfortable, normal pace.
Your legs may ache a little at first as your muscles get adjusted to the new activity, but if you keep at it for just one month you will see amazing results.
Also, as far as sit ups are concerned, may I offer this advice. After my pregnancies, I had a lot of back pain. After a while, I realized I was having back pain because my stomach muscles were weak from the pregnancy, and my back muscles were doing all the work, thus the pain. I started doing sit ups (gradually increase them) to now 25 per day, and after about 6 weeks I no longer had any back pain.
Best wishes to you and your wonderful family!
