So boy wonder and I made this recipe today. Oh Oh Oh, its awesome, awesome, awesome. Yes I did get it off Recipezaar. I did make a few changes.
CrockPot Candy(Chocolate Covered Peanuts)
1. 1 (16ounce) package dry roasted salted peanuts
2. 1 (16ounce)package unsalted dry roasted peanuts*I used lightly salted*
3. 1 (12ounce)package semi-sweet chocolate bits. *I used chocolate chips*
4. 1 German Chocolate bar *I used a foreign chocolate dark from aldi's
5. 32 ounces white almond bark
1. Put peanuts in the botton of crockpot ; add other ingredients.
2.Cook on low setting for 1 1/2 to 2 hours *stir about hour or so of the way through, then again at the end*
3. Place rounded spoonfuls on waz paper and allow to cool* I used two teaspoons, one to scoop and one to scrap off*
I will say this can get messy. It made just shy of 100 peanut clusters. They are so good though, they do not take much time to cool either. These would make great gifts at christmas, and you can play around with what ever kind of chocolate you would like, or what ever nut you would like.
Cost break down.
The Jars of peanuts at aldi's are 1.69 each.
Bag of chocolate chips is .99cents
The german chocolate bar is .99cents
The almond bark(would be cheaper at christmas) was 2.99 each had to get 2.
----------------Grand total of
$11.34
Yes Kinda pricey but well worth it, these will last us quite awhile.
