My Reply to a comment left about our moving to Missouri

Posted on Wed 14 Jun 2006 at 11:44

Well after some prayer, I will respond to the comment left in my blog today..

We have no plans on paper. We do not need any. We are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are called to follow him where ever he may lead us. Weather that be in the jungles of Africa, to the eskimo villages of alaska, or in an R.V. to the great state of Missouri. You are to know that he is your Direction and your guide. We have prayed and ask for the Lord to open and close doors, and to let us know where he wants us. We are willing to sell everything and leave and follow him. We are commanded to do this in the Word of God. We have no fears, or reservation. It is so amazing when you are full with love of Christ and follow his direction. It is truly a freeing experience.

As far as having a responsibility to my son. According to Almighty God and his word. My son does not need friends or lots of family around to survive and grow up right.

He needs two parents, who are belivers(check), to train him up in the way of the Lord(check). My son needs shelter(check),food(check). Godly parents who are bringing him up right(check). Does he need toys and stuff, and people(NO).He has two parents who are devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ. Who are raising him in the ways of the Word, and not according to the World, or what others think. We are doing everything that we are commanded to in the Word. For my son to know that we go where the Lord calls us, Is such a powerful testimony, to the Lords strength, and soveringty, and knowing that when the Lord calls, you are to drop everything and go. And doing that shows that we are doers of the Word not just readers of it.

One should be a little sad that there family is moving away. I would not be, knowing that my child and grandchild were following there passion and most of all the Lord. Man that would make me burst with Joy. We have given our lives completely over to the Lord and wherever he leads, and what ever we do. It is for him.

My thoughts and feelings are to be in this order in my Life according to the word:

My Lord Jesus Christ #1

My Husband #2

My Child(ren)#3

Everybody else later.

Thats how my life is set up. I have no regrets or doubts. Leaning on the Father of our World

Just wanted to let you know I read the comment you are referring to, and your answer. What a tough thing to do when you know what is expected of you by the Lord, and to be questioned as to wether you are parenting well. What are we taught in the Word??? For the Lord to be our focus, for us to be utterly dependant on Him for our every need, for Him to be our comforter and protector, forsaking all others...your son doesn't have to believe that when you tell him. You are doing just that! Family and friends are a bonus! What faith you have, I am humbled and blessed by it. Just wanted to let you know!!
Have a wonderful day!
Rossie

thank you

Casondra,
I am SO glad you answered that post that someone wrote. I was mad after I read it. How dare that person to judge you....it's not her right to do that.
You can feel the love you and Chris have for the Lord...doing His will. You are wonderful people and parents to Calvin. Remember this Casondra...When we truly acknowledge God's ownership of everything in our lives, anxiety is suddenly gone.
With love to you my sister in Christ,
Cathy (from the "Homestead")

Good for you!

I made a move with my dd (now 11), that many people thought was a bit crazy ~ we moved to be with my parents, and we moved to a very rural part of northern NH. Many people expressed that I was crazy, that living with my folks again would be awful and that Hannah would suffer from the move...but I knew it was what and where the Lord was leading us. It was devastating financially, because I had not been a good steward previously ~ it was a lesson well-needed. I have learned and grown so much from this move. God has blessed us both, with the important things ~ with a simpler life, allowing us to focus more clearly on him, with a strong relationship with my folks (even through the difficult getting-along times), he has blessed Hannah with a large garden to play in, wonderful friends (with far less kids here, she has far more friends than before), and both of us with the time to spend together, gorwing in our Lord. Good for you to do what's right, He does provide for His children.

Keep on keepin' on

Casondra,
Don't let others get you down. When you have the Lord on your side, what else do you need?
Yes, Calvin needs to be raised...and raised to know the Lord. Does he need all the trappings of childhood? Nope...and you already know that. Stand strong in what you believe.
Moving is an exciting and a bit scary time. If you know it is God leading you, carry on. Makes all the difference if you are following Him.
Praying for a smooth move for you!!!

Blessings,
Laurie
