• Saturday, January 3, 2009 - Focussing/Priorities??

While I await the thawing of my dryer. Yes you read it right. My dryer is outside as there is no room at the inn(side)! Ha ha. the little electric heater is in it and the frozen flannel fabric that was in the dryer is now sitting inside the house waiting to get dried. I need it for the quilt I am making for our grandson's birthday coming up in about 10 days. Not much time left but I think I can do it. The quilt is a simple pattern of 12" squares with applique on them ~~sometimes I sew strips in between the squares sometimes not. I make the appliques up most of the time just tracing things or drawing things. they are pretty simplistic.
My scrapbooking supplies have me surrounded at about waist deep depth as I try to decide what to do with it and how to organize it. I really wonder what a minimalist would do with it all. Big bonfire I suppose.
I have all these things swarming and swirling through my head today. Housework, no no bible reading and prayer first then
sorting, baking, cooking meals, back to the cleaning, feed animals, water animals, chop and pack firewood, go snowshoeing with the dogs, sew on quilt (when the fabric is thawed out and dry) organize everything. I have to write lists on which list to start on !!!YIKES!!
What are my priorities anyhow?? At my age I thought everyone including me had it all together. I have a close friend in her 70's and she is the same. Always busy with animals to feed and care for~~ her family~~and loves to scrapbook and cardmake
both of us are Christians and get together for visiting and biblestudy when we can. But I am so "together" I even have to write a list of who to pray for and why I am praying for them or it won't get done.
I guess I will go check out my dryer and make the soup for lunch. Maybe I can even get this stuff that is caving in on top of me somewhat organized so that I can actually get at it to use it. Novel idea I know but hey!
I still have some rabbit hides in the freezer to do something with too. Prayerfully before 2010!

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily,
as unto the LORD, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the LORD ye shall receive
the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the LORD
CHRIST.
Colossians 3:23-24

umbly off to do what needs doing.
