Thank all of you for your prayers for us and our housing situation. Finally, the USDA has given final approval and we are clear to close. The bad news is the closing co needs three business days to get everything ready. Well, thanks again and please continue your prayers that closing goes through without incident. GOOD NEWS

Just heard from our mortgage officer! He said we have final approval from the lender and the file is off to the USDA for review. We are so happy this part is over! USDA takes 48hours to review, then we are clear to close! Please pray for us that the file goes through USDA without a hitch! Thank you for all your prayers.

no news on the house yet. I'm praying for patience and acceptance, but I still feel like I'm freiking out a little. Hope for better report latter in the day.
Sunday, Sunday, SundayWell, another Sunday gone by. Still no news on the house, and thats got me down a bit. Tomorrow being a holiday, I won't know until Tuesday at least. I keep praying that everthing will finally be over and we will be in our new house before the month is over. Well, we had pancakes with syrup and sausage for breakfast this morning with a little orange juice. Went to church. The sermon was particularly relevent for the MLK holiday on how Christ accepted everyone, even the lowliest sinners, and we should strive to do the same. For lunch we had homestyle chicken tostadas. They were so filling that nobody really wanted dinner so I just made strawberry muffins and banana chocolate milk smoothie. Filled tummies, content children, content mommy. I am thinking about buying a grain mill and a bosch mixer with our tax refund. Has anyone used theese items and maybe could give me some advice? Do you feel it was worth the cost?hanging out in the snow

Well, we were supossed to close yesterday. We had conditional approval and sent in the conditions, but we haven't heard back from underwriting and its been over a week. This has been such a hard experience that I hope I will never have to buy another house for the rest of my life. On the positive side, I think the whole experience has made me a more patient person. Now, we are looking to close next week. Please keep us in your prayers!

Getting adjusted to being back at school this week. After a couple weeks vacation its hard getting back to work. Warm today, it was about 69F today and should be around 42 tonight. I'm almost tempted to see if I can't start something in the garden, since the coldest of the temperatures seem to be behind us for the year. Lots of wind today though. All the blowing dust has given me a sore throat and an allergy flare up. Finished up the last of the paper work for the house and faxed it over (three months and we still haven't closed yet). I am constantly praying that God will watch over us and finally see us in our new home after all the closing date we missed. I have lots of faith that God had all this happen for a reason, and that It will all work out for the best it the end. Today I made a ham for dinner, with mashed potatoes and some baked beans. Made a 2 layer cake for desert. Thankfully there will me plenty of ham for tomorrow and maybe soup if I can find the chance to cook some up. Looking forward to a restful weekend and some good new about the house. Please keep us in your prayers. new pics posted

Woke up today and worked on cleaning the bathroom. Got that done early and Got the kids ready for Church. Church activities are getting more exciting by the day as Christmas approaches. Next week the kids have choir concert, so they fit in some extra practice in Sunday school today. After Church we went down to the new house to check it out, and scope out the lay out for some possible new furniture. Making Enchiladas tonight for dinner.

This is soon to be our new desert homestead! The house got through the appraisal ok even though it needs work. It looks stark, but thats the reality of living in the desert. B ut hard work and repairing the irriagation system will see it bloom into a bueatiful homestead for us.

Thanks to all who kept us in their prayers. The bank accepted our bid of 70,000 for our mini dream farm and we even got them to pick up closing costs and a 2 year home warranty. I am thanking God for this tremendous blessing. Please keep us in our prayers, we will not be closing until Nov 20th, and we are constantly praying that nothing unexpected happens in that time to prevent close of escrow. Thank all of you for all your encouragement.

Looked at another property and placed a bid. I was really happy because we were able to find a brick and morter home rather than a mobile home. Mobile homes are really nice, especially when the owner shows pride of ownership, but I wanted to save on electric, which in Arizona can run you at least 300 dollars per month if you are really saving energy and have super efficient appliances. This home is not as flashy as the one in town, but it is simple and basic and meets our needs. It sits on 3.3 acres and has 3/2 and about 1450 square feet. Its connected to city and irrigation water. I bid around 70,000, which according to my realtor is the best so far. The only downfall is that its 14 miles and about a 20 minute drive from work and town. But, I here there is a walmart in the middle of the desert about 5 minutes away. I'm praying that everthing will go okay, and if it is God's will we will be in our new home by The end of November. Some people might scoff at such a small acreage, but I am content the poor wages of a teacher can afford such a slice of heaven. If everthing goes okay, I will post some pics in the near future.
We are ready

Well, we lost the bid for the mini farm and now are looking for other potential properties. I would like to close on a house before Nov 20th, so we are really looking. I did find some property about 15 miles away, that might work for us. I am going to check it out in the next couple of days.
