Simple Daybook: January 25th

Outside my window... skies are white with clouds and a steady drizzle/sprinkle has been falling for hours, flooding our yard for almost a week now.
I am thinking... about how I SOOO need to reverence my husband and remember that as I am serving him I am serving Christ -- and conversely that if I am not serving him, then I am bringing dishonor to the name of Christ.
I am also thinking ... that today I really need to keep on track - with the help of the daily chore planner I got this weekend - and keep busy during the day instead of stopping and falling into selfish laziness.
I am thankful for... home and husband and children, friends that lift me in prayer and encourage me by their own good example, and a Lord whose mercy is never-ending.
From the learning rooms... Children are at the table with math and science and handwriting.
From the kitchen... an early breakfast this morning for husband of eggs, sausage and toast, which the children shared in. Need to get some bread started, lunch planned and dinner prep underway - -after spelling. ;-)
I am wearing... a long black and white knit skirt (over my jammie pants) with a blue top and blue snowman cardigan.
I am creating... dishcloths and potholders at the moment. I'm on my 6th or 7th set.
I am going... to stick to my schedule today, Lord willing, and do all that needs doing in order to bless my husband and family and bring glory to Him.
I am reading... the Bible. Playing catch-up with my daily reading so that I can be on track by the end of this month. Also reading The Excellent Wife and Me? Obey Him?
I am hoping... to be able to carve out some time to regularly work on the cross-stitch piece for my mother's birthday, since I did not finish it in time last year -
I am hearing... the drip, drip, drip of water from the rain gutter outside, and pages being turned at the school table.
Around the house... there's a bit of chaos left from the weekend, Playmobile all over the living room along with a few loads of laundry that need folding and putting away.
One of my favorite things... family - treasured pictures and stories from the past, priceless relationships today, and the hope of deeper relationships in the future.
A few plans for the rest of the week: stay on task each day, be diligent about meals, clean out much of our "stuff" for two charity pick-ups next week, and steady reading and study of God's word.
