Paper aeroplanes
I have been reading "The Littles to the rescue" to my 7 yo son and 5 yo daughter. I like to have some sort of 'chapter' book to read them in the evening before bedtime. They have their dinner, then a bath, then we cozy up in my big bed and I read to them from a chosen book. We read lots of picture books at various times of the day as well. Just depends how our day pans out. Anyway..........back the "The Littles". I haven't read any of this series before and the kids are really enjoying the excitement and adventure within these pages. This particular story has one of the characters as a glider pilot and I had to give a brief discription of what a glider was to my children. I finished up telling them that it worked a bit like a paper 'plane. Well, of course, when they woke this morning, they asked me to make them some paper 'planes. Now, I admit, I'm not the best at making paper aeroplanes but after several attempts, I finally came up with a model that worked well.  Kids are SO fun! |
