My First Bee Sting of the Year

We don't keep bees ourselves but there is a local man whom we know who
has about 10 hives he keeps on our land for part of the year. The
arrangement is somewhat new, since the fall, and we are excited to see
what having this many bees will do for the blueberries. Last year
we just depended on whatever bees could find us. I also hope to
get a little fresh honey out of the deal! The beekeeper came today to check on the hives and I took the boys out to observe from what I thought was a safe distance. But when bees are mad, no distance is safe, and I have a little red swollen souvenir of our adventure on my left forearm. Thankfully it was me and not the boys! More later....gotta get back to work.
