Spy Chips
I listened to this fascinating interview Tuesday on the Janet Parshall's America radio show. She was talking to Katherine Albrecht and Liz McIntyre, the authors of "The Spychips Threat": Why Christians Should Resist RFID and Electronic Surveillance. They were detailing some of the topics covered in the book. I've been watching what the USDA is trying to do with the National Animal Identification System (NAIS) and what a power and liberty grab that is turning out to be. After hearing this book reviewed (disclosure: I have not yet read the book but plan to), I am beginning to get paranoid!
I am NOT the paranoid type. But just because I'm becoming paranoid does not mean there aren't people out to surveil my every move. I mean, does "the government" or "big business" really need to know how much chocolate I eat? Isn't that between my husband and my scale and me?
I realize the implications are much more serious than chocolate consumption. Humor is my way of handling the scary and unreal. But this is beginning to really bother me. I feel like Cassandra. Can any of you relate?

I just bought this book! I look forward (ha-I think!) to reading it.
Our forefathers are spinning in their graves as to the direction this country has taken--and the crooked government (doesn't matter if it's Rep or Dem!) running it!
Sad, just plain sad.

I understand COMPLETELY.....I choose to use the term "due diligent" to ensure our civil liberties remain in tact.........but I fall over into paranoia often days....especially w/information overload....ah!
Meanwhile, I often chuckle w/my own conspiracy theories when I look at my site meter (not for numbers but for geographical readers) and see that someone from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office from IRAN, the USDA and then someone from Harvard continue to check in and read my blogs - not to mention the "increase" in helicopter fly overs in our middle of nowhere region of the state......I become paranoid.......LOL!! Keep wondering when the helicopter is going to land in our front yard.....ahhh!
Waving from the other side of the State,
Harriette

I am just learning about all this. We do not live on a farm or have animals. But that is our goal. I sure do not want to have to report to our government for any reason, let alone for them to keep and eye on our animals and on us.

Um, You would be suprised to know this type of information is already in place and to a SMALL extent being used today by our 911 Dispatch offices. (my husband is a fireman) We were amazed at the capability and immediately realized how far this could go, with big brother looking over our shoulders. I'll post more info on my blog tonight or tomorrow, to piggy back on your post.
Scary, and we need to remind ourselves that ultimately the Lord is in control.
Oh! I almost forgot!! Check out this link I got this morning from my SEdairy yahoo group... www.farmersfreshfood.com
And I'm checking out the Strawberry farm link now, Thank you.
for sure!!

Your note reminded me of something a p-shrink (Grin) said to me once ... "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean nobody's after you!" It behooves all of us to keep our eyes open. I work for a university and last week our building maintenance person sent out a list of employees in her department ... One of her employee's job duties was listed as "... Big Brother .." hmmmm ... And here i was thinking they were really trying to keep that a secret. <right here, you should be hearing my hysterical laughter which has begun to border on maniacal!> Well, we all know that it is not a laughing matter, and just as I decided years ago that when they came to register my guns, I would bury them in the mountains where I could still get to them -- so I will resist registering my animals - when i finally get some. !
