Batter-up!!!!!!
This is by far my FAVORITE time of the year!!!!
My name, Heather, means "flower"... I wonder
if that is why I love to garden (well, mostly love
to flower garden)? It is hard to keep my inside
this time of the year.... until days like yesterday...
I had neglected laundry, dishes and cleaning
all week.... YIKES!!!
Baseball and softball is in full swing for our
oldest two children. I LOVE going to the park
to watch them play! I find great pleasure in
watching them as they grow and learn their
sport. And of course I am there to celebrate
along with them and encourage them when
they have had challenges.
Marriage is kind of like baseball..... It takes a
lot of work and practicing of skills, but it can
be a lot of fun!! In marriage we sometimes
sin, "error", but we don't quit the game, we ask
for grace and learn from our mistakes!!! Also,
the key is that a strong baseball team is built on
teamwork! One player can make a big difference,
but it is the combined effort of the whole team.
YOu may feel that your husband isn't doing his
part of the teamwork.... you can't control that....
but what you can do is excell at your position and
be an example..... serve and help him.... encourage
him!! Keep planting those seeds of love!!!
Just as I sit at the sidelines and cheer on my kids
at their games I am sitting at this computer cheering
on all you ladies for being positive wives!! YEAH!!
GOOD JOB! AWESOME!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
Have a BLESSED day!!
Be a BLESSING!!!!
Heather

From Nancy Leigh DeMoss:
Day Seventeen:
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." Prov. 9:10
Are you a wise woman? Do you open your mouth with
wisdom, as Proverbs 31:26 suggests? As you continue
in your 30-day challenge, remember that a wise woman
encourages her husband.
Is your husband a "wise man?" Does he have a godly
perspective that comes from knowing God and walking with
Him in obedience? Does he have a sense of purpose for
his life and vision for your home?
Tell him how much this means to you. If you are not sure
about your husband's vision for your home, ask him, "Honey,
what do you want to accomplish with our marriage and
home in the years to come?" and "How can I help you accomplish
that?" If he does not have a vision, your questions may
inspire him to develop one.
If your husband is not walking with God - or perhaps, does
not know the Lord - you have the opportunity and
responsibility to practice your faith and create a thirst for God.
Thank God for giving your husband a place in his heart that only
He can fill, and keep praying that he will turn to the Lord to
fill that vacuum! |

| I think your analogy of baseball and marriage was very cute and very good... Its also fun to get to the bases with our hubbies and occasionally get a homerun, hee, hee... |
