A Garden Frame of Mind
|
As March is approaching rapidly (think tomorrow) my husband and I have been moving our thoughts toward our garden. Mmmmm, fresh tomato omelets every morning! So, I thought I'd share some progress my sweet, capable husband has made towards the land of romas (and a couple beefsteaks)! First, we have homemade starter pots made from toilet paper rolls and newspaper. Sweet baby tomato plants at our kitchen window: ![]() Next we have cold-frames that my love made with used windows, housing various vegetables in recycled plastic containers. ![]() ![]() ![]() Isn't this exciting? For anyone wondering, those are plastic diaper wipe boxes and various yogurt/sour cream containers in there. Why is the promise of spring so enticing? I Corinthians 3:7 "So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow." I pray that God will grow my family spiritually, as well as our garden. God bless! |

So that I may comfort another
|
II Corinthians 1 :3-4
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." My husband and I read this chapter in our morning bible study together and it spoke VOLUMES to us at this point in our marriage. Jesus continues to comfort us and we both pray that one day we will be able to extend even a small portion of that comfort to another person/couple.
I praise God daily for such a wonderful husband who would lead me to read this so early in the morning. I thank God for his compassion and comfort to me and my husband. Thank you, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, my comforter! |

Monday Morning Time
|
I thought I'd get a chance to reflect on the day and week a little early, but darling Evelyn (5) has already been up for about 20 minutes. Yikes! Today, as I work and play with the children, I want to rest on these verses: Psalm 32:1-2 "Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit." I pray that these verses would help anyone as much as they have helped me. God bless! Oh, and a husband brag! Mine brought me flowers on his way home from work saturday night: ![]() |

My first day!
|
Welcome everyone, this is my first blog entry ever!!! Welcome to Boone Country, where God is served first and husband second and children third. Currently, we have 3 beautiful babies, 1 dachshund, 2 ducks and a lot of squirrels (to our dachshunds dismay). I am a very proud housewife who dabbles in sewing and can play the piano. I hope this blog will help keep my family in touch with us as well as point anyone who stumbles here to Jesus Christ. Have a wonderful and blessed day! Carolyn |
