Here in SW FL, it rains about everyday, now. We have had big long rains. It rains so hard and it's so fat, you literally cannot see. LOL! That's Florida in the rainy season. At any rate, it often keeps us from enjoying being outside, playgrounds, beach, camping, etc. However, there is fun to be found on a rainy day. Fun that is often overlooked.
There isn't much to a child's enjoyment of puddles, but parents normally dissallow such play, because they are on their way somewhere, don't want them to get their shoes wet, have nice clothes on, etc. However, when you are home for a day, and its rainy, here is a great idea.
When the rain is just a sprinkle or drizzle, let your children put on play clothes, or fun rain gear if you own it. Then step outside for some fun. Kick water, jump in puddles, splash, dance, whatever their hearts desire. This activity is especially fun when mom and/or dad join in!
In this way, you can be sure of safety, they aren't wearing anything that will be ruined, and y ou can take them in and dry them off immediately to prevent colds. PLaying in the rain y is quite fun and your children will remember it for a lifetime!
These are my thoughts.
