About Me

Greetings!
My name is Jeanette Wood. I am the wife to my best friend, Joe and the mother to ten blessings. We have been home educating our children since birth- our oldest is 19 and our baby is 4. We have given birth to six children physically and four were born from our hearts through adoption. We are currently living in Topeka Kansas- moving from our home state of CA on the first of July 2008. Moving is nothing new to the Wood family. We have moved 16 times in the last 17 years. We never know where this journey will take us yet we are confident that He has only good plans for us and we will follow wherever He leads! We love to live simply and are filled with Thanks everyday for the good work He has begun in our lives. Grab yourself a cup of tea and enjoy a visit with me while I allow you to peek into our hearts and home!

They resembled children of a King...

Hello Friends!!!

We continue to complete all that we feel the Lord has for us here in California. We are tucking away such sweet memories with friends and each other. I have been taking photos of the simple things that we all love so much. The Lord has blessed us in so many ways and I don't want any of us to forget His Goodness to us. I am putting together a scrapbook of all the photos we have taken these last few months- I am confident it will be a treasure for years to come. My Jed returned home safely on Saturday- what a wonderful Mothers Day present! It was a treat to have all my children with me while we went to my brothers to celebrate my Momma! While we have a week of fun planned with company from out of state coming and family reunion along with birthdays happening my real message tonight is something different. I will share about all the life events soon but for now may I ask you to hear my heart?

Judges 8:18 Is a verse that I have been pondering much the last few days. These two kings that knew not of our Lord knew that the men they had killed were "children of a King." How? Was it by the way they were dressed, spoke, lived or died? I would like to suggest it was all of the above! Others know we are children of the King by watching and listening to each part of our lives! I want the World to see Him in me, don't you? I want to be a light that burns on the darkest of nights and proclaims, "He is a shield to all those that put their trust in Him. He will never leave you or forsake you! He has only good plans for you.. plans to give you a future and a hope. YOU are loved with an everlasting Love!"

As we are preparing to leave California, I continually ask myself, "What will others remember about our family?" "What have they seen in our lives?" It is our prayer that you have been able to see Him in each of us! That you have seen the clay being molded by the Potter on a daily basis! We have chose to live in such a way that our lives have been transparent for His Glory. We have openly shared our heartaches and our triumphs and yet, we humbly seek Him and ask, "Did we do all you desired of us? Did we live in such a way that others could really see your Hand at work in our lives?

While we wait to hear the details on the exact day and hour that we are to leave California we are praying for sight and understanding asking if there is anything He desires for us to do or say before we leave. We know that our time here is drawing to a close and we want to leave knowing we were faithful to His voice. The Lord continues to work on our hearts in such an intimate way; each member of the Wood family is growing in Him daily! We have found great Joy in the memorization of His Word and are memorizing chapters and even books of the Bible. The Lord is renewing our vision to be eternally focused and to put away things of this world! Dear friends, HE IS COMING BACK SOON!!!! Let each of us BE READY FOR HIS RETURN! Let us be workman that needs not to be ashamed rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Let each of us do our part to send the Gospel to all parts of the Earth... and we can start right in the midst of our own homes, to those precious children He has graciously given us!  Can you hear my heart here? I am truly crying out to each of you... PLEASE put away things of this world and BE READY FOR HIS RETURN!!!

Dear friends, we pray for each of you often! We give thanks to the Father for your friendship and life testimony. Do not grow weary in well doing!! We praise God that He has allowed us to be part of your lives, sharing in your hardships and happiness alike. If you need us please know we are here to pray for you and encourage you in the Lord. You can email us anytime needed. Even if you don't have words to express and can only say or type the word pray... we will be faithful to do so!

Should we fail to see each other here on Earth, we will one day meet at His table and worship Him in Truth!

Because of His Great Love,
Mrs. Joseph Wood

My sister in Christ I do see Jesus in you. Your post are of loving Heavenly Father in a way of graditude and blessings. I also have a heart for all to be prepared and as those like John preparing the way of the Lord is our calling. We seek, we believe, we receive and with a knowing that God creator of all is bringing His plan into manifestion right before our eyes, in our home, on the street, in the stores, at the work place and all of the Universe. Having my lamp full of the oil of truth is my true desire so I will not perish but have ever lasting life with My heavenly family in the Kingdom of God. We two are join heirs to the throne. Rejoicing with YOU as we are knowing the time is HERE! In His love, rilda *U*

Some Favorite Photos That My Bekah Girl Has Taken!

Funny Things My Children Have Said:

Timothy and Elisha were talking about all the contents of the Ark of the Covenant. When Elisha told Timothy that God had put the 10 commandments in it. Timothy replied with confidence, "Well he had too so that Moses wouldn't break them again!"

After several trips to the emergency room with my Timothy. I said, "Timothy, you really must stop hurting yourself like this. Each time we go through that hospital door it is costing Daddy 100.00!" He sweetly replied, "Is there another way we can get in Mommy?"

As Ezekiel and I poured over the garden magazines we ran across the brussel spouts. Ezekiel had never seen them before and with excitment said, "Momma, Look! They sell bite size lettuce!"

As we prepaired to vacume seal our newly butchered chickens. My Beth-Joy said, "Mom I know we want to seal our chickens but I can't figure out how we are going to get that chicken through that skinny slot!"

Rebekah was blessing me and cleaning out my pj drawer when she came across a new bra that I had purchased. In all seriousness she said, "Mom I just can't figure out why you would buy a bra thats only good for 18 hours!"

Jed was about five years old when he ran out to the kitchen and met me with excitement saying, "Mom I think God made my wife last night! I counted my ribs and now I am missing one!"

Matthew and Samuel were playing when the girls and I overheard them and couldn't help but giggle. Matthew wanted to play house and have a baby but Samuel informed him that, "You can't have a baby, Matthew- you're only a 2T"

While driving I often lose cell phone reception with my Joe. I never realized how much the little ones were listening until one day I overheard them say, "Mom and Dad broke up again!" "No Mommy broke up with Daddy" replied Matthew. "No! It was daddy. He broke up with Mommy again!" Replied Sammy. As I listend I thought it was a good thing no one was ease dropping into their coversation- they would think my Joe and I had a pretty rocky marriage! LOL

While on one of our "girls days" Bethany was having a hard time falling asleep. Grandma encouraged her to count sheep. After a few moments of slience we heard Beths sweat voice say, "Thump" We all thought about it for a moment and then Grandma asked, "Beth what was the thump about?" "Oh, one of my sheep ran into the fence.. that's all Grandma." We couldn't stop laughing for at least an hour.
