A lamb is born!
I am so excited to share that tomorrow we will be going to pick up one of our baby lambs to bring to the city home so we can bottle feed it. We had sold a woman one of our prize sheep for cash plus two lambs in return once her prize sheep, from another line, lambed. We are getting one buck or to be ram
and one ewe. These are new blood lines we are excited about having and the children are just delighted to have them in the home so we can be part of their daily activity. We don't want to leave them on the mother for two reasons... one being that the one ewe had tripplets so we would chance that one of the lambs would be smaller and secondly we want to bottle raise them as we have discovered that all our animals are so delightfully manageable because of this care that is taken when they are young. I will post photos tomorrow once our little guy arrives.
Just for fun..... all our sheep have spice names and we hope to continue with this pattern. If you have a suggestion we would love to hear from you and if Beth-Joy chooses the name you suggest I will mail you a little thank you gift! It's so much fun sharing with friends! I don't have the time tonight but tomorrow when I post the photos and share about our blessing I will write down all the names we have given the sheep so far, so you kinda have an idea on what names are taken.
Have a wonderful night dear friends and we will talk with you again soon! May all His blessings abound in your heart and home all for HIS GLORY!
With much love,

I love reading about everything going on at your homestead. I read about your solar freezer. When I told DH about it he was thrilled that such a thing existed. We hope to one day own one as well. First, we must be out of this apartment, though :). Congrats on the new lamb!

Ooooh Babies!!!! How wonderful.. Have you used Anise or Betany yet? (I especially like Betany since its lambs ears) and how about Clove or Catnip for the ram (unless you would rather go with Goats Beard -giggle) - Sharon
